That's about as straight forward an answer as a Tory MP trying to avoid an answer from Jeremy Paxman, but I agree that you have been doing a lot of mass-debating over the possibility of a shift.

Would you say that the shift this season has been Arsenal increasing the gap on Spurs ? As that is what the evidence points to.

Another good question.

The proponents of the shift would argue, I am sure, that the full picture can only emerge over several seasons, and that it is foolhardy to look at any one particular season upon which to base a definitive answer. I am undecided on the matter. Certainly, I can see both sides of the argument, and I am prepared to allow each side time to prove their respective points.

Like you, PISKIE, I am sick to death of everyone going on about "the shift" and I sometimes wish that they would confine their mass-debating to themselves, rather than splash it over the pages of this site.

I would agree with you, PISKIE, that I have made many emissions. However, I would like to think that I have always attempted to clean up after myself.
 
In the absence of anybody else talking about the power shift, I guess you have been forced to mass-debate alone.
 
PISKIE does love a good debate, and the feeling is mutual. However, I think it would be wrong to say that there has been any indulgence in a mutual mass-debate.
 
There has been no debate on this thread though, just the 43 pages for the penny to finally drop for HIAG to realise that there is no power shift.

Yes, I can see the validity of the argument of those many fans - both neutral and partisan - who believe that we are in the midst of a shift; but, equally, I wholly empathize with those who utterly deny any kind of shift.

This is clearly a debate that will rage on for some while.

The thing is though mate it's not 43 pages of debate, it's 43 pages of people taking the piss out of your power shift nonsense.

Ah, but I have consistently distanced myself from the debate, mate. A gooner came up with the idea, and I thought it was interesting enough to put idea to a wider audience. Just because I put the debate up doesn't mean I take any particular side of the argument.

At the end of the day, I want closure on this thing as much as you do.
