ESPN and various other sources on Twitter are reporting that Man Utd will offer Javier Hernadez in exchange for Nathaniel Clyne......

Thoughts?

My only reservation about this is that Chicharito clearly believes he belongs at a bigger club, and has allegedly rebuffed our interest before. That would concern me, re: potential attitude issues, as we don't generally sign players who are of a peak age and have just been at clubs like Man U and Real Madrid. That's more Everton and Newcastle's level of specialisation, as they can pay the wages and (in the latter's case) seem to be happy to manage the ego issues, motivation problems, and bad attitude of these players, as long as they sell shirts.

That said, I don't want to pre-judge him, and think he could do a good job here if he was in the right frame of mind and is not coerced as part of a package deal - ie. he has to make the choice of his own free will.

I don't believe it for a second, when was the last swap deal that actually happened?
I would take him in a heartbeat though, he's a fantastic player

Can't see this happening as other have said but just to entertain the idea and I'm not even sure he would fit in, I feel he'd see himself as our star man which just isn't the Saints way. Also he's more of a fox-in-the-box striker, a poacher if you like. I can't see how a player like that would fit into our system. Earlier in the season we all said how important Pelle is to our style of play. Win at Newcastle a good example of this. Could anyone here honestly see him playing that role? I'd rather get cash for Clyne then buy a striker from the black box.

I think Chicarito actually has a pretty good attitude. Doesn't come across as a troublemaker at all but a good pro.

I may be completely wrong though!

Clyne must be of greater value than Chicarito who isn't rated good enough for Manure and can't get a game in Spain.
So for me £10-15m + Chicarito. This will give us enough for a goos replacement (or two)
