Its a very poor article. Forgetting the content, the fact it's by the NOTW should be enough to discredit it. Having read it, it sounds like a bloke who knows nothing about football let alone either of the 2 clubs. It contradicts itself and his facts a hazy in places. Glad the paper has closed. Utter garbage.

What pudding? The annoying thing is the hype of Wickham not the fact we didn't get him. Choice between the midfield engine of a Ligue 1 winning team or the midfield engine of an average C,ship side. I know which one I would have

And heres me thinking Connor Wickham is a striker - what do I know?

Much as it amuses me that they have took the hump, the article is a ****ing shambles.

The lad's statistics and facts are ****ing scandalous, did he purposely take the piss knowing the paper was finished.

- Tore Andre Flow cost £7.5 million, he states 'over £10million'.

- Robert was £9.5 million, and to fair, he was some player for a while, hardly right to hold him up in a line up of flops!

Final thing before i stop defending the beloved neighbours (ahem).

His point that 'Sunderland having bigger spending power is more significant than finishing above them in 10th' is utter horse ****.

Where you finish in the league is the only thing that ****ing counts, if we finished below them, the 'extra spending power' would only provide more ammo for them to chuck at us, ammo against which we'd be utterly defenseless.

So, amusing that they take offence, but **** me, this lads an embarrasement to journalism, and wholly suited to writing in a rag that the whole world now looks at as bile!

You're not wrong BB. NOTW was never a bastion of fact-based journalism. All it was good for was tits and bonking vicar stories.

excellent read Sunderland have the bragging rights well always knew they did the last few seasons

I agree totally Brucey's Beak - the article is drivel and I hope that most of the last News of The Worlds tomorrow end up as fish and chip paper.
