Just as Carmine requested an update on this, the thread has mysteriously disappeared.

I echo Carmine concern, so what happened with the rat Stan?

Did it turn out to be a mackem which has been seen off by Sir Ben Ratsbane?

Let us know!

Just sat on the throne prior to going out for the day.

I hope there's an update upon my return.

I hope you've crimped it off otherwise your legs will be deader than a Mackems sense of humour.

My 'mate' Ratty has been busy - yesterday p.m., this morning (early and mid-) and again this afts.

Running, scratting, etc.

Awaiting a call from the 'Rat-man' to fix an appointment.

End of update.

Thanks Stanners. Good to hear you've gotten the pro's in, although Im sure if you'd just asked, we coulda saved you some cash. Sir Ben is an expert on removing vermin and pests.

Please keep us updated of any other news, don't want to go ruining Carmines visit to the white Isle.

Also, scratting, is that an actual word? If it isn't it should be, without even having heard it before it sounds perfect for this and used in relation to a rat, scratting about.

We had one in our loft
We've moved now ( not because of the rat)
Got council in for about £30 and poisoned it......you get pretty bright blue ratshit around when they've eaten the poison.

A poisoned rat can cause problems if you don't find where it's gone to die! They give off a smell you only have to smell once to never forget!!

'Scratting' is a word I learned from my grandma. It's thus a true real word.

Current poison makes the rat look for water. It develops a terrible thirst, so will **** off to find water. Thus it pegs out elsewhere.

.

Doesn't it thin the blood so it effectively seeps out of capillaries, causing the rat to die of internal bleeding?

Rat fact- Rats can't vomit.

It used to, Dutch. The varmints developed resistance to it. Every so often, a new poison is introduced - to the pro rat-offers. You can buy yesterday's poison (= ineffective) in the shops.

I've yet to hear of one that's developed an immunity to a good jack russell. <ok>

My mate lives on a farm, he once had a ferret. One day, the ferret disappeared. A week later it was discovered on top of a shelf in the rear barn, dead. It had eatened a poisoned dead rat, and died next to its meal. Another rat had then turned up and had a nibble at the dead ferret, which also died next to his meal and his meals meal.

The ferret was then covered in BMW's Alpine White paint, bent into an L shape, left to harden and nailed to the garage rafters fully preserved, where it stayed for a few months before being brought down to be used as a weapon to hit people with.

That night was the last night it was ever seen.
