Don't confuse having a rivalry with wanting the other club to fail, the local derbies give the fans one of the biggest and most important games of the year, underneath the 'hatred' there is a dependancy on these rivalries which is often unacknowledged by the fans.

Whilst the knuckle-dragging Celtic contingent cheered when Rangers went down, the more rational ones were understandably disappointed because their best two games of the football calendar had been taken away.

Obviously it is different with the cross-code rivalries, although probably less logical as neither team has any impact on the other.

And the other way round, none of the Leeds United fans have a petty grudge with the Rhino's fans, in fact a large contingent went to support them in the Challenge Cup final last year.

Also there's a hell of a lot of Man U and Chelsea shirts in Leeds.

I'm not confusing anything at all, I just find it hard to understand the mentality of people that continually slag off another team within their locality. "It's a football town, no it's a rugby town" bollocks and bullshit. They simply come across to me pathetic narrow minded ****wits I'm afraid. I'd like to see success for every team within our locality no matter what the sport.

Completely agree, unfortunately that's far too sensible for our city. People are far too insular and hold small minded, petty views which are of no use to anyone and if anything hold the city back.

Well done on pointing out the capital of Rugby :emoticon-0150-hands Fine effort there mate, Do you know who won the Rugby World Cup? That is the All Blacks mate and for the record their from New Zealand :afro:. No one gives a **** about rugby league? Well my league loving friend you sure do tonight! You wasting your precious time claiming you know something of this sport yet having a go at fans of both codes who love the sports equally! Yes top hat I love rugby league, I love football!! As a kid growing up I mostly played rugby league but played football too myself, I enjoyed the physicality of rugby league and the technical skills of football.. You see just because two codes are very different doesn't mean they can't be enjoyed playing/spectating etc take off your rose tinted glasses mate <ale>

Nah, I get ya.. You hate rugby league <ok> My fav English import to play over here was Gareth Ellis, ironically he played for the Tigers in the NRL. Top player quick off his feet very agile was sad to see him return to uk. How's he going for FC? Wish him all the best :emoticon-0167-beer:

What does the huge advertising hoarding opposite HRI, near the KC, 'ONE CITY, ONE SPORT, ONE DERBY' make the city look like?

I don't hate it, I just don't understand the point of it. If you wanted to watch rugby, you'd watch rugby. Not that softy version for puffs.

If City had as much success as those clubs we'd have a stronger fanbase & less plastics.

    That's all it's down to.

Rovers & FC fans remember glory days at Wembley & Cardiff respectively.

The fans of the Boxing roar on Campbell & Coyle because they're entertaining & successful.

City? Get good crowds for a relatively small club. We have a catchment area that nobody at the club tries to tap into.

I'd love to see the whole of the East Riding & Hull area get behind City and the other sports. It would make us one of the biggest sporting cities in the UK.

KR look to be a team really on the up, out of the two top Hull rugby league teams I think they actually came into existence with us (Hull City) all those years ago, used to play in West Hull too apparently

They make KR look like they've got a clever marketing department.

If we any wit or humour about us, it would be replaced by Hatties 'One City, One Sport, One Darby' one.
