I'd sell Jones, Enrique, Coates, Borini, Mario, Lovren, Lallana, Lambert. I'd even sell Skrtel and Lucas but they can come off the bench at least. Same applies to Flanno.
Werent our revenues about the 9th biggest in the world over last few years, even without CL. Were spending like a CL club because apart from on the field (where it matters most) we pretty much are one.
Hes just the next glen johnson, as soon as he loses the ability to attack then he'll be judged even more on his defending abilities which aren't top notch.
I know it sounds bad but we need players who see Liverpool as a stepping stone. Players with ambition to play for the biggest clubs in the world because they believe they have the quality. The 3 Soton lads think Liverpool is their pinnacle.
Unfortunately true... we should be targeting the El Classico 2019 line-ups! Would be typical of Ian Ayre not to know them
We have also done well from signing young players struggling to break into top clubs first 11's because they are competing with super stars. Sturridge, Coutinho, Sakho. Maybe players like Illaramendi and Deulofeu are good ones to look at to.
I think a lot of that was down to the legacy Hicks & Gillett had left behind to be fair. Now that the current board have had a few years to fix it we made a (small) profit last season even without CL football.
They put a chunk of it down to the failed ground move (over £50m ffs!) but that aside you were trading at a loss because of over spending on player and wages, it was a deliberate strategy in order to attain CL football. The last reported profit was off the back off the new TV deal.
And since then we've signed many sponsorship and commercial deals as well as cut the wages and seen TV money have a major boost too. We can afford to spend at the same rate as before.
Real Madrid ARE monitoring Raheem Sterling as we always look to sign the best young players, reveals Zinedine Zidane Exclusive: Zinedine Zidane has confirmed Real Madrid are keen on signing Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling Sterling has rejected the chance of signing a £100,000 a week deal Zidane has revealed Real have been 'monitoring' England ace Sterling Real monitored the likes of Gareth Bale and Isco before completing deals READ: Liverpool may struggle to sign big names, says Brendan Rodgers By Charlie Skillen for MailOnline Real Madrid are keeping tabs on Liverpool contract rebel Raheem Sterling. Bernabeu legend Zinedine Zidane, now managing the Spanish giants' Castilla B-Team but long tipped for the No 1 role, insists the club are looking for the world's best youngsters to add to their squad. Sterling would certainly fit the bill. The England winger, who has netted six times in the Premier League this season, is at loggerheads with the Anfield hierarchy over a new deal. But Zidane has revealed that the European Champions are also after Sterling, pointing to recent Real captures like Gareth Bale and Raphael Varane as proof of their commitment to snapping up the continent's premier young talent. 'We know who Raheem Sterling is, and of course we are monitoring him as a player,' Zidane said. 'There are very few players in the world who can improve the Real Madrid squad, so it is going to make sense we monitor the progress of the best young players in the world. 'We monitored Bale for over a year, the same with Isco and also Varane. 'We monitor many of the best young players in Europe, then if we feel they have something to offer Real Madrid we will contact their club and try and make the next step.'
Even on your last set of accounts, despite making a circa £1m profit the net debt rose by £12m, and that was only due to the additional £30m TV revenue. You were spending beyond your means to chase the CL places it's a simple fact.
That bullet point under headline made me laugh... madrid monitored players before signing them?! Really... Never would have guessed? They must be the only team that do that right and must mean they're certain to sign him then hed get no where near madrids team
if real are willing to pny up fine. the press have linked sterling now to city, cheslea, utd and real... only barca to go for the grand slam. Do the press play that kind of game for fun i wonder... see if they cane link a guy to everyone within a week. If all clubs are interested LFC should make sure he's sold and a bidding war begins. Thats entertain us over the summer much more than endless bale or ronadlo to utd/city/cheslea/nowehre stuff
