How about:-
Super Kelv - Clyne (24 today) - Jose - Maya - Ferrari Berty - Spider - Vic - Davis (if fit) / JWP - Gas - Sam G / Ryan Seager- Long / Dusan

No, this is an attempt to start a Match Thread without calling it one. No doubt the same posters will post exactly the same things once we do have a Match Thread.:emoticon-0113-sleep :emoticon-0100-smile
I personally don't see the problem with having a thread now. If people are posting then they obviously want to discuss line ups and tactics for the upcoming game. Who decreed that 5 days is appropriate but 7 days is not? Or was it written that thou shal not discuss tactics until 5d before?

It's a fair point, but one thing we don't want is too many stickied threads. We normally unstick the match thread a couple of days after the game, so maybe the time for the new Match Thread is at that point. I certainly wouldn't want to see a match thread for a later game before the next game, that way madness lies. I'll see what the other Mod's think.

I think the match thread was delayed because people complained that they wanted to do it and didn't get the chance...don't think there are that many that want to do it now. I think we need a match thread earlier when we lose...say 5 minutes after the final whistle.
But surely if you moved the starting line everybody still has the same chance of doing a thread? Anyways silly discussion really.

I agree dont sticky the thread until a few days before.

Sorry Ron, you got it wrong against Everton, if Mane is fit then he MUST start every game. Without his goals in recent months, we would be mid-table with our season over.
If Davis is fit, then I pick him over JWP and i'd pick Long up front and bring Tadic in.
The back seven pick themselves.

I'd actually pick Pelle for this one - it's exactly the type of game he could well score in, which would reignite his confidence.

I guess AL has been fired but is this a premature Match Thread or what? :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Just been given my marching orders from Lord Sugar, and heading for an interview with Dara O'Brien in the back of a black cab. :emoticon-0106-cryin

If he is fit, and I really hope he will be, Davis must come back in. We desperately missed his tempo yesterday.

Davis
Clyne Fonte Toby Bertrand
Davis Wanyama Schneiderlin
Mane Long Tadic

In the absence of a PM, let me say that the rule that Beddytare laid down a long time ago has served us well. Let's not change it. I suppose a case could be made to post the match thread one day earlier, but generally people are still talking about the previous on the following Tuesday.

For clarity - Wednesday match threads for Saturday games, Thurs/Sun/Mon, etc... We generally unstick the previous match thread two days after its play-day, although it can be fluid depending upon popularity.

These Team For... threads are OK, as long as the people who put them up know that their post life will die once the match thread is up and stickied.

Can't understand why many are laying all the blame for our lack of goals down to Pelle???

Everton game was reminiscent of many recent performances.....we're playing well and pretty much controlling games but again our creativity and final ball in the last third has been poor. 2nd half against Everton despite controlling the game we didn't create any worthwhile attempts on goal, surely that wasn't all down to Pelle.
Dropping Pelle isn't going to solve problem, early season we had players all over the pitch chipping in with goals, that's not happening now.
