Raheem Sterling has turned down a £100k per week deal with Liverpool.

He's also given an exclusive interview to the BBC, explaining his decision.

Love watching him play when he on song, just ghosts past defenders. Problem is he does fade in and out of games like many wide players. Can not say I have seen him destroy a team single handed how Bale does (or did). Would be a bit part player at the likes of Real if he took Bale's place.

Yeah, can be great but, he's the archetypal 'mercurial winger' at the moment. I like watching him play (with his little jelly arms flailing about), but love watching him body swerve this new LFC contract more :)

Really, why should he sign? 100,000 a week is obviously huge, but in the context of the division (or indeed the club!) it probably isn't value for him. He's on the edge of the top group of players in the division, most of whom take double that or more. Christ, even Glen Johnson is on (hold onto your butts for this one) 120,000 a week.

I **** you not.

So really, he has every right to hold out for a much better offer, or another club where would at least have a chance of winning some honors.

Agree with James G.

I'm absolutely loving seeing the boot on the other foot though. They couldn't understand why we dislike lallana - well sterling has done far less wrong than him, and the liverpool fans are all crying already :)

Rodgers just said that Sterling will be at Liverpool next season. Funny though it is, not impressed with Sterling's attitude. Note to Les: cross Sterling off shopping list as he isn't Saintly.

To be fair to the guy, he's said that money isn't the issue and he simply wants to wait until the end of the season to see where Liverpool end up.

Any younger player with considerable talent will want to play at the highest level and that's the Champion's League.

Liverpool aren't guaranteed top 4, hence why Sterling wants to wait.

Thinks "It would be embarrassing for them if we finished above them!"

Be interesting to see what happens with the Kane saga. MP said in his press conference (amongst a lot of flannel words) that Kane would go on their preseason tour if he said so. Can't imagine Saints preventing a player from accepting a call up to a tournament.

Lukaku's new agent has said that he would never have let him sign for Everton as he should be at a bigger club. Ignoring Lukaku, how does it help an agent to offend a club....a good PL club at that. One day he could have a player who'd kill to play at Everton, but they won't deal with him.

Such a shame. A slow, past-it, Kolo Toure (not to mention the continued presence of Emre Can, who is hardly a natural CB) picked ahead of Dejan.
