It's an interesting question what the mafia should do.

If they kill and convert innocents, they actually make it easier investigators to discover them. They also lose the ability to make investigators remain hidden.

So long as we threaten to vote no lynch they can't actually use their powers because it only hurts themselves.

In running through the scenarios, I see them having two options. One, they shoot and recruit on the first three nights, int he hope of hitting the detectives. There's two roles and ten players, and need to get both detectives. The odds aren't good for them. If one detective survices, then as you can say, they can come into the open, share with the group what they know, and then simply investigate one person per night. We may as well skip to 10 minute nightfalls at that point.

Or, they hold off with their actions until the detectives come out, then start shooting and recruiting. Even if the detectives don't find the recruit before the last known mafia dies, it'll be 6 against 1 in favour of the town - we really should win from there.

The mafia have a couple of choices, but the odds are stacked against them.

Had you Pms me and said what you thought I'd have answered differently totally and I think you asked that way to get the answer you wanted

Ergo I dont really feel like continuing with it as it's clear now the game become unbalanced so let's just declared town wins and close this now as the only way left is mafia hit or convert both cops randomly

Stop spiittng your dummy out about the game. The game is fine, just scrap no lynch.

Your call MITO, but we could just continue without the no lynch? But you're Gamesmaster, so if you don't want to run it, then as I say, it's your call imo.

And are you really sure you want Astro to pms you? <yikes>

Yeah I said from the start I think the No Lynch option breaks the game in the case of mafia having a limited number of options. We have no time constraint so can use our investigators to get information.

There was no [HASHTAG]#conspiracy[/HASHTAG] I just asked the question knowing it would be a massive tactical bonus for us innocents.

I don't care about starting again or changing the rule or whatever. We learn and move on.

I also think no vote should be a suicide but maybe that's too harsh for the team losing the player.

Also there needs to be something that prevents the tactic of mafia literally doing nothing and winning be default, but that gets hard for balancing.

Let's ban no lynch vote then. I think most of us would want to carry on with the game, but not in a slow non action way.

Everyone needs to lighten up and just have some fun FFS <doh>

stick me me mikey and gerrez up for lynching if you want and see what happens. I'm innocent but rather get lynched first night at least playing the game than everyone be all bloody grumpy <doh>

I'm happy to move away from the no lynch scenario.

The only person right now that I can happily vote for without knowing who is on which team is Valley
 
Yeah let's keep going, just ban no lynch and force people to vote , it's much more fun like that anyway! And we are all thankful your running the game mito, it isn't ruined at all, still plenty of time for people to enjoy it :)

I want the no lynch option removed so I'll move away from it... I vote AFC because I think he's a bellend ;)

That's why the only person I can vote for at the moment without feeling guilty is Valley.

If all players sit still for the days whilst Mafia carry out their actions, the game goes from 10v3 to 7v4 meaning it would be easier for the Mafia to manipulate the lynch voting. Plus we doubt the detectives after a recruit too.
