I am happy to move away from no lynch, but whoever I vote for would be pure guesswork.

I don't want a slow meaningless game, even if it gives us a greater chance to win.

I think we do need to put say 3 up. I just want to review the posts fofpattrns first.

However, I still find it suspicious that people would vote against Astro when he proposed a decent strategy for the town to win. It's one thing disagreeing with the approach of sitting tight vs lynch, but another to vote against a likely Townie? Unless Astro is somehow playing a clever Mafia bluff that I can't yet read, in which case lynch the ******!

Can those who voted Astro please provide a reason - other than 'because it's Astro'

Keep me right. We all entered a game so that we could all sit and do nothing for 3-6 days and then vote for people an alleged Investigator suggests are the Mafia even though we don't know who the Investigators are.

Does that mean everyone can log off for 3 days and then come back and see what's happened ( could be longer if nothing is happening over the Easter weekend)

Also if you say something you are guilty but if you don't say anything then you are also guilty.

What happens if the Mafia get lucky and recruit an Investigator and we wait for 6 days to be led down the garden path!!

Do feel no lynching vote is not in spirit of game. Perhaps the sort of thing Chelsea might do to win. I'm a member of the Toon Army and remember the Keegan/Roy of the Rovers era where if the opposition scored 3 we would try and score 4. Sitting on my hands does not seem a fun way to play the game.

Therefore I'm voting Astro

1. He's the one advocating the boring game.
2. He was Mafia last time.
3. He's trying to play a game like Chelsea and not King Kev's "Entertainers".

For the benefit of Don Obi. I didn't want a boring game. I had enough of that with the likes of Fat Sam and Souness to name a few. Astro is probably Town as I just said but if he went so may his tactics (plus he deserves to go for playing those tactics). Would you want to lose 4-3 a la Liverpool twice or would you rather win 1-0 a la Fat Sam. Choice for me is easy.

My word, busy busy minds all thinking thinking thinking.
The mafia crew are plain to see,
One is assured, two possibly
The third has been quiet
ne'er made a sound
Lest he **** up
his lies then be found

As I said, disagreeing with his suggestions I get, but voting off a Townie for being boring is nuts. IF you're Town anway.

The whole point of this game is not find a way to get round the set up and get a win

The point is everyone starts with even chance of winning and you have to figure out through deduction who is who.

I feel that we may as well scrap this and start again or just leave it altogether.

Sorry but that's my view

Is this poetry thing of yours new or have you just kept it quiet so far (or have I just missed it)?

Ok, so scrap 'no lynch' if yoh think it will ruin things. <ok>

no lynch is boring anyway, not once have I voted no lynch.

Or, just say no lynch if fine you can do it, but if no lynch wins then the next person with most votes gets lynched anyway. Allows people to "vote" without voting

Sounds like sneaky Mafia talk to me. <laugh>

Abstain may be a better name for it then. To be honest I don't mind people not voting too much, and in general have nothing against a no lynch, I just think in this case that going for the win at all costs maybe wasn't the intention of the game and why most signed up for it.

That said, I'm fairly ambivalent about scrapping no lynch or not. The game is how it is, and if we want to keep that option open, then fine. I just personally prefer games with lots of talking and voting, that's all.

The only outcome I wouldn't be able to take would be Valley sitting back, not posting, not voting and then merrily waltzing in on the last day to lead a Mafia victory dance. AGAIN!

Even if you don't like the idea of the plan you almost have to do it the first day because there is literally no information available to us.

Note the point is to do it untl we get information to act on, not forever.

But if you start announcing now that you only want to do the plan for one day, the mafia will just keep quiet and come back day 2, wait for you to randomly accuse someone then jump on an easy vote.

Has everyone playing even posted in the thread yet (looks at Valley)? I'd suggest that's a bigger flaw in the game than not being willing to just randomly attack your own team.

Anyway I'll be dead tomorrow and no doubt plenty of people will be willing to tell you who to vote for <ok>

Yes, but the only information is what the detectives find out. And they can't reveal themselves to tell us that information until they're safe, either because the mafia have used all their actions, or because they have all the names and the mafia have nowhere to hide. There's no point in them coming out with one name so the mafia can shoot or recuit them. So you are waiting a while.

OK, I do think it's pretty clear the optimal, try-hardiest way to win is to no lynch but as I said originally do agree it's kind of against the spirit of the game.

So I guess we should let the random hand of fate guide us and go for the old coin flip again. I haven't got any mafia reads as I skimmed a lot of pages and all the crap blended together, two tentative town reads for now would be Bodanki and Nozzer but we'll see. Going off the most recent votes posted I'll switch to IBWT, because there's no better vote than a retaliatory vote!
