440 Chep- Belize 7/1 Occasionally guessy early on, hurdling debutant Belize finally got the hang of things after the bird had flown. He´ll be of greater interest in due course, especially once his yard´s protracted losing run comes to an end. 210 Kemp- Argot Argot appeared to surpass last month´s Catterick second and should soon be winning. He knuckled down bravely from the last and beat the third a deal more convincingly than he had last time. The dangers are seemingly looking for handicap marks so I feel very confident this will be put in to win and will. 245 Kemp- Herbert Park 5/6 Unexposed and beat subsquent Cheltenham winner Qualando 2 starts back. 350 Kemp- Ride On Time 8/1 E/W Done most of his racing on good to soft/soft and weakened on handicap debut over 2m3f at Market Rasen this month; might prefer a sound surface but something to prove returned to further with cheekpieces on. 255 Warwick- Baroque Man 7/1 Struggled in all three handicap hurdles but last month´s chase debut at Newbury was a lot more encouraging than 33l defeat might suggest (2m6f, good to soft); 5lb lower now and yard firing in the winners, so shouldn´t be totally ignored. 325 Warwick- Horizontal Speed 6/4 NAP Had a good first campaign over fences, following an all-the-way win at Wetherby in January (2m4f, good to soft) with an even better effort at Cheltenham, where he made most and only lost the lead on the run-in (2m4f, good to soft); up 4lb but this is much less competitive and he´ll be hard to catch if that hasn´t left a mark
Poker School 4 55 K -3/1 The better ground will help Ian Williams horse show his true colours -Will Kennedy rides, often a notable jock for the yard. As boily has noted Baroque Man 2 55 W has a good chance -was withdrawn the other day from a realistic engagement, ground had gone against him -could easily score for his in form yard. In the 4 30 at Warwick -Chiquiline could be the value to upset the two market leaders, was well backed last time and noted staying on -happy Monday people!
Had a look at the two bumpers tomorrow and convinced my self to have a bet and put them up on here; Warwick; Walking In The Air a bumper winner and Ballydine a full brother to the yards Kilcooley and a bumper runner up dominate the market but Walking In The Air fetched a mere 44k at the sales which isn't great for an Irp2p winner. Ballydine will almost certainly need a sterner test before he is seen at his best. The one I like is debutante, DRAYTONIAN 9-2 from the Pip Hobbs yard. He is a half brother to the decidedly useful mare Down Ace, who was speedy enough to win her bumper. The yard like to have them ready for their debuts more often than not and market confidence would be significant. Kempton; Is Nicky Henderson's playground and his ROBINS REEF will most likely face nothing of the quality she did when fifth in a listed bumper at Sandown. That was a rough race that day and this little lady showed a nice attitude. I am not a fan of penalty carrying bumpers but all signs point straight to this one. I was slightly tempted toward an each way on the nicely bred Stepover at 20-1 but Alex Hales is winnerless in recent weeks and this is not a venue he excels at. In the 4:55 where rudey like Poker School I think the two 4yo's, CAPE CASTER & NORSE LIGHT get a handy allowance but I wouldn't put anyone off.
I think Velvet Cognac will go close tomorrow and keep the Greatrex bandwagon rolling. 2.45. Kempton. Trip, ground and course would appear to suit and at 4/1 with 365 looks a fair price. I wouldn't be at all surprised should the outsider of three win the 3.15. George Nympton is too well handicapped in the context of this contest (can feel a rap coming on) to ignore. I know the other two are open to any amount of improvement, but if this beast was to come back anywhere near the 115 rating he had in his pomp he's 23lb well in. Add Gemma's 5lb and the fact the other two might cut each others throats? 10/1 is way too generous. As the blonde haired bint said....."Anything can happen" !
Stick if you're about I see fehily rides first 2 at kempton and then shoots over for the last at Warwick for Charlie. ...any ideas on chances mate?? Cheers
In my constituency ‘New’ Labour are now priced at 200/1 to oblige - the 5th choice of the market! Meanwhile, a bit of a move in the market this morning on both the Conservatives to win the most seats and to achieve an overall majority. 'New' Labour by contrast drifting in both. It would appear that punters have read the first draft of the mainfesto of the latter party.
Barney, I'm thinking of standing in East Oxford which is the only labour stronghold in Oxfordshire, got 3 votes from friends already 2 Scots and 1 Welsh, but think thats where it is going to end as i would be the first man to represent Sinn Féin in England!!!! never know as all these English voting UKIP, anything can happen!
Surely this picture is destined to become Sir Barney's new avatar - after all, it catches some of his favourite people together in a seamless blend of sport and royalty please log in to view this image
Afternoon all. 4:20 Kemp - RHAPANDO 7/2 4:55 Kemp - KAYF BLANCO 4/1 Singles and a double. Good luck all!!
A day away from the coalface for once so a bit of fun is the £1 level stakes profit challenge. Thankfully none of that All Weather cobblers so we'll have a crack at some action over decent tracks. 2.10 Kempton Winner Massagot 9/1 2.45 Kempton Amidon 9/2 3.50 Kempton New Horizons 7/2 4.55 Kempton Kuda Huraa 8/1 3.35 Chepstow Spirit D'Amour 10/1 e.w 3.25 Warwick Drumshambo 9/1 5.05 Warwick Arctic Gold 16/1 e.w
ARGOT the obvious one mate. No news on the bumper except its been there all year and this is the first time that have it on the track. I think he will need the outing. They also have READY TOKEN running today who has been offered to our syndicate...I shall watch with interest!
Nothing wrong with Princess Camilla, old boy. A decent game old bird. As for the rest of them... Meanwhile, anyone see that Sprinter Sacre could upstage one of those pictured at April on the last day of the current NH campaign. Mr Henderson says he’s a possible for the 2 mile Grade1 Chase run that day. The man pictured could be fuming as surely all eyes would be on the ‘Black Aeroplane’ rather than some departing saddle monkey. Ballicks, I see that ‘New Labour are 1/40 to win your seat. Cor blimey, I’d move...
It's a disgrace that 2 of the stars of Benefit Britain should be allowed to upstage HRH AP ... do you think she got that hat with a pay-day loan ??
