Good Morning Everyone,
Not much to report at the moment on the Leeds front, so I'd like to talk about an interesting article from LeedsLover last night.
I asked him how he saw the differences between Not606 and JA, and this is what he had to say :-
First thing I noticed on here were the facilities, or how good the forum was laid out; obviously getting to know the lads took a bit longer.
I had been reading the comments for a few weeks before signing up. There was a lot of humour, banter, sensible debate and, no abuse. I also saw what you previously mentioned Elland and that was the respect members showed each other towards differing opinions and views. Once I realised you were the moderator, I could see you cared about the forum and how it was run.
So, I packed me bags and toothbrush and hailed a taxi.
After I first joined JA there were a lot of put downs towards this forum, as I understand it this was a breakaway forum after the old BBC606 shut down, the main ridicule, amongst others, was about how few members you had and couldn't get any more, but it's better to have a few with sensibility and humour rather than a lot with very little of both.
If I remember rightly, wasn't someone advertising not606 on JA in the early days?
Don't get me wrong, there are some on JA who put out good sensible and humorous comments etc, they're known as the cheeries. JA now seems to be split between the cheeries and the drearies, which I'm sure most on here would've heard about at some stage.
You have a couple of sensible posters on here that post / comment on both forums, but not abusers.
A lot of JA606'ers you wouldn't want on your forum, unless they completely changed their attitude and approach, and to be honest, if they did come over the likes of Chippy, Olof, Eire, Shako etc would have a field day, even the wallies would probably be siding with you on that one.
Despite the early ridicule of this forum by some JA606'ers, I think this forum is way ahead in leaps and bounds........
What can we do to improve our board?
Are we getting used to the new format?
How does this board compare to others?
