    Good Morning Everyone,

Not much to report at the moment on the Leeds front, so I'd like to talk about an interesting article from LeedsLover last night.

I asked him how he saw the differences between Not606 and JA, and this is what he had to say :-

First thing I noticed on here were the facilities, or how good the forum was laid out; obviously getting to know the lads took a bit longer.

I had been reading the comments for a few weeks before signing up. There was a lot of humour, banter, sensible debate and, no abuse. I also saw what you previously mentioned Elland and that was the respect members showed each other towards differing opinions and views. Once I realised you were the moderator, I could see you cared about the forum and how it was run.

So, I packed me bags and toothbrush and hailed a taxi.

After I first joined JA there were a lot of put downs towards this forum, as I understand it this was a breakaway forum after the old BBC606 shut down, the main ridicule, amongst others, was about how few members you had and couldn't get any more, but it's better to have a few with sensibility and humour rather than a lot with very little of both.

If I remember rightly, wasn't someone advertising not606 on JA in the early days?

Don't get me wrong, there are some on JA who put out good sensible and humorous comments etc, they're known as the cheeries. JA now seems to be split between the cheeries and the drearies, which I'm sure most on here would've heard about at some stage.

You have a couple of sensible posters on here that post / comment on both forums, but not abusers.

A lot of JA606'ers you wouldn't want on your forum, unless they completely changed their attitude and approach, and to be honest, if they did come over the likes of Chippy, Olof, Eire, Shako etc would have a field day, even the wallies would probably be siding with you on that one.

Despite the early ridicule of this forum by some JA606'ers, I think this forum is way ahead in leaps and bounds........:emoticon-0148-yes:

What can we do to improve our board?

Are we getting used to the new format?

How does this board compare to others?

    Morning all,

This is the only board I use. Used to be an occasional lurker on the old 606, and every now and again (usually TOMA time) I'd go on WACCOE, only to be disappointed by learning nothing from the thousand or so posts I'd read. I'm happy with this board in every respect, tbh. Like the people, Mods, tolerance, occasional meetups, subjects covered etc. I know LL is currently being bantered about his bromance with Elland, but seriously, Elland is crucial to this board, and I'd like to thank him for his time, industry & invention. This might be an awful board without him. Got to thank Glory for his entertainment value too. Not a day goes by without him livening us up. He's clearly mastered getting out of that straightjacket! :D

Morning all. Like jock, I pop in on Waccoe from time to time. It's so damn big though, near impossible to start any banter. Lots on there with issues anyway. Wouldn't like to see the end results of a waccoe meet up, given how our little ones end up <whistle>
Byram just been featured on Sky sports. I sure it'll be repeated during the day

WJ, thank you for your kind words (cheque is in the post.) On a serious note the board is a success thanks to each and every one of you.

It would be good if we could get some fresh new members.

We (as a board) have spoken in the past about twitter, newsnow and other avenues to create a bigger fan base.

The Southampton board make the most out of. No reason why we can't do the same.

    Technically, I'm useless.

    Any idea's?

    Hey'up Elland,

I'd like to add my tuppence worth of suggestions in regards to your 3 questions, from my own perception of course.

There is a saying, KISS, keep it simple stupid, or, keep it straight and simple.

The biggest asset on any forum is the members, and obviously the kind of members that create posts and comments are the ones who help the creators make it a good forum, the wrong kind, or some of the wrong kind can make it a bad forum where some good posters eventually leave.

JA had a few females on their forum, they also lost those females, as well as some male members because of abusive and degrading comments thrown about.

So when you look to expand and create more members, there is a risk that new members may/will include a varied percentage of some who have issues or can't live day to day without drama.

Decent posters like to come on a forum and have a friendly debate, a laugh, a bit of banter, make friends and have an egg and bacon roll in the breakfast debate....:emoticon-0105-wink:

Expansion sounds good, but only to a comfortable level that the creators / moderators can monitor and control. Also, moderators will have to be more stricter with the boot button incase there are one or two who are regularly abusive and degrading towards others.

Twitter and facebook etc sound good, but there's no detailed conversation on those sites like there is on this forum.

    How can you improve not606,

From my perspective, what is there to improve. People can do just about everything they'd want to do on this forum at moment, and the main things are conversation, debate, emoticons and the way people can show who they're replying to is a great function, other functions are way ahead of JA606.

I'm sure others could come up with some suggestions, but for me it's comfortable and not too technical with lots of unwanted or unneeded buttons etc. I'm sure if any of us think of anything along the way then we'll pop the suggestion / idea up.

How does this board compare to others,

my suggestion is, forget about other forums and don't try to match'em or compare. All the creators need to do is concentrate on creating improved ideas suitable for not606 and it's members only, that way you become more original rather than the same as other forums.

Look at places on net you can advertise, preferably for free first, twitter and facebook etc might be good for that.

Might be a good idea to have a think about a new original name so there is no comparison, or being mistaken for ja606, Could be a good attraction for new members.

    Afternoon all

Sporting wise this is the only forum I use however I frequent Digital Spy's Political Forum. Like this one because there isn't a load of people. Don't really care for Waccoe and JA

I used to lurk on JA606 then moved over when I saw this place advertised on there.

I like the format of the forum (even if it did lock me out for about 2 months for no god dam reason).

I have an account on WACCOE but never really post. Infact, I never really understand what the ****s going on.

The main thing for me is when people have different opinions on here, they're that - opinions.

That's accepted and there's heated debates but no irrational shouting.

I think we could do with some new members though just to bulk it up a bit.

Good afternoon from what has been a sunny morning not surprised we did not sign any loaneesalthough I for one would have liked Knockeart on a trial to but loan to see if he would balance the squad better
I like this site although I used to write on the other occasionally, and in you Matt we have someone who thinks about what he writes each day
Yes I got off my parking ticket but then I have got off at least 4 in the past they must like what I write
Still think that Norwich will go up along with Boro or Bournemouth poor Derby will have to bite the dust again

    Afternoon Mike,

I reckon Bournemouth will go up. They have too many goal scorers not to.

Well done on getting the parking fine binned
