Good move by the club imo. We're safe, there's no future here for him. I bet he's on mega bucks a week. Bye KWJ I can't like you because you were such a lazy ****er, if you could have been bothered you'd have scored twice as many this season even in a side as **** as ours.
Healey was recalled from Colchester last week. Rumour around Newport is that he is coming on loan to County who have released one of their strikers for personal reasons - wife has serious health problems. Also City want him to have more game time. I have no problem with KWJ going. He will spend much of his time on the bench at Bournemouth. Just checking, yes, I said bench not beach.
Another crazy day at the office. To think the last thing we'll recall of his days in a bluebirds shirt was that shot from 6 yards into a virtually open goal sailing high into the stand. Doyle and Macheda to see out the season up top with Mason and Healey in reserve (presuming Revell has a lengthy spell out)?
Cherries fans are totally unenthralled by the news of their new signing. Lol!!! I have told my south coast contact they can keep him as long as they like.
Excellent business for us. Gets rid of the laziest player ever to pull on a Bluebirds shirt and saves a fortune on wages. Also gives an opportunity for someone who wants to play for us. The other alternative is we could play one up front and play football through the midfield. Although that's far too radical for Slade.
Haven't had much time on the board today other than a quick burst at Stevo on my phone...........but here goes on this subject. All joking aside, this is a very good move by the club with regards to next season's campaign. There's no doubt that Jones wouldn't be around for it anyway, so getting him out of the club now makes perfect sense. The onus will be on those responsible for on-pitch policies to come up with a viable alternative up front, not just find a replacement lumping target. Revell is not the answer for me. He'll run all day and seems a genuine character, but he hasn't the physical presence of Jones and probably no more skill - all he'll bring is effort which is at least a bonus. We really need class and pace up there and a midfield capable of providing a quick supply chain. Defensively we have the makings of a top Championship set up. Manga, Morrison and Turner are all only mid twenties and should only get better with more pitch time together. Peltier looks the right sort at right back and Fabio could become a match winner on either side of the pitch rather than the "match loser" that Slade virtually branded him with. Malone, John and Ralls seem decent options though I'd like to see Ralls getting his chance further up the pitch. Let's see who the summer window brings in and not worry too much about who they might hit in the revolving door on the way out.
From Wales online " WalesOnline understands Bournemouth have agreed to pay Jones' considerable salary and bonuses for the rest of the season. The Bluebirds have received a sizeable six-figure loan fee from Bournemouth. They will also receive another six-figure fee should Howe's men be promoted to the Premier League with Jones on board." IF TRUE - That is at least a £500k + deal for us, the decision makers have made some mistakes but this is a brilliant bit of business.
Whoops - it was an 18 month exchange deal for Jones in a swap for Odemwingie who had the same contract length to run. Jones is out of contract in the summer and wont be back..
What I find interesting (and telling) is the difference in all our reactions to this news opposed to when it was announced Connolly was off to Watford. Admittedly the shock factor had gone as we'd already experienced it once but its pretty obvious how we valued the respective merits of these players.
And who scored for Bournemouth........Kenwyn Jones ... you could not make it up if you tried.........
http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/cardiff-city-make-600000-kenwyne-9134185 £600K!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Absolute blinder of a deal. Still got a year left according to WOL so he might well be back. HOOOOOOOOOOFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also a similar situation with Connolly at Watford. Don't worry everybody, Tan and Slade know what they're doing!
