Gotcha Like I said, wouldn't be my first choice of flavour, but I do like a good slice. I also appreciate their handiness for eating when on the move, a trait shared by...sausage rolls.
You may mock but I challenge you to try before you dismiss the notion. Beef and Onion pie 2 pieces of bread and butter, brown sauce, assemble and enjoy. Get back to me once you've tried this wonder of modern Welsh cooking.
That could take a while due to lack of pie. In the meantime I'll take your word for it. But how do you eat it? What size pie are you using?
I don't see how the bread adds to the pie taste though... Normal bread is a bit boring and just used for holding together the nice bits but a pie doesn't need bread to hold it together...
Normal supermarket size pies, we're not talking about getting a family size pie between 2 pieces of bread here. Peters Pies Beef and Onion will fit nicely, most savoury products taste better in a sandwich. Get it done and get back to me I'm sure you will agree that it's the future. When I mentioned it previously someone said that they knew a sandwich shop that had started doing it.
Why eating just one sausage a day raises your cancer risk by 20 per cent please log in to view this image We need to look at the bad side of sausage too.
Weird this, because I was thinking of making a post on pies etc yesterday. Pies The finest quality of pie available to mankind is available only at the original source in Frodsham or at Warrington market. These are Coward's Pies. I've never eaten steak, meat and potato or minced beef and onion pies of a higher quality. Coward's is actually a butcher's shop selling the finest quality of carefully sourced meat. The pies come from this meat. The chunks of meat are proper lean chunks of beautiful beef. If ever near Frodsahm, it's worth joining the queue Sausage Rolls and Savoury Slices Look no further than Waterfields. This Leigh craft bakery has a number of outlets, including two in Warrington and one in Stockton Heath. The sausage rolls are superb and the cheese and onion slices are divine, especially with baked beans. The meat and potato pasties are cool as well. Very tasty between two rounds of their tasty fresh bread and some HP sauce. An honourable mention for Currell's of Latchford as well
Sausage rolls = ............ I'm going to go all Hatie Hopkins now and say they're what you see the small children of fat parents sucking on while being pushed around shopping centres in their prams from any time onwards of 10 a.m. As far as things wrapped in pastry go ....... beef wellington or .......... Ginsters Cornish pasty
****in loves savoury pastry type stuffs me. Would be about 19 stone if I didn't control my diet. Last time I had sausage rolls I bought a pack of 4, chilled, from supermercado and ate all of them in one sitting. Like to save it up for a treat stuff like that.
Had a really good game pie few weeks ago from a small shop. Was absolutely amazing, much better than the crap you get in shops etc
So all this talk gave me a craving for the fabled pie sandwich, the following then occurs. Mrs luv: WTF is that? luv: Pie sandwich. Mrs luv: Don't be daft you can't have a pie sandwich! luv: Can, try some. Mrs luv: (very unsure tries said sandwich) Bloody hell that's nice! You're all missing out, well not RHC but the rest of you are.
