Forster N/A Can't give him a rating. Horrible looking injury, get well soon Fraser.
Clyne 7 - Got forward well as usual and solid at the back
Fonte 6 - Looked a bit dodgy in the first half (although I was at the other end)
Toby 8 - Great display, a beast at the back.
    Bertrand 7 - Solid performance
Morgan 7 - Sound, assured as per usual
Davis 6 - Hmm, not convinced he should be in midfield alongside Morgan.
Tadic 6 - Showed what he can do in flashes but not often enough.
Mane 7 - He's a really dangerous player. His ability to run at players is great and I'm glad I was right when I said to give him time when he was not playing well.
Long 8 - A constant pain in the arse. Took his goal well and was always a threat, got past Mee on a regular basis.
Pelle 7 - Better, much better. His hold up play was very good most of the time, he just needs a goal!

    Subs:
SKD 9.9 MOTM - I was going to give him 10 but he dallied needlessly on the ball a few times! But he was outstanding, especially as he hasn't played competitive football for ages.
Vic 7 - We were much more solid when he came on.

Agree with most of those Tom except I'd have given Mane at least an 8, and you're harsh on Davis there - one of his best games for a while and when he moved further forward after Vic came on he was excellent. Certainly a lot more effective than Tadic.

Would agree with most of those. Thought Kelv was outstanding other than nearly kicking it off ings into the goal. Hope fraser gets better soon !

6 for Steven Davis is frankly a joke mate. Your opinion, but "not convinced he should be in midfield" is utter tosh.

What I meant is he's better in the number 10 position.

Ah I see. That's a fair comment I suppose. Thought he was really good second half today.

I was in the Chapel so probably didn't notice him too much. Views of the game will differ depending on where you're sat.

Apparently injured his leg and shoulder. Hope he gets better soon and they are rubbing liniment over SKD....those old muscles won't fix themselves. Would be wonderful if Super Kelv had a swansong he wasn't expecting...as I expect he will be more of a coach next season.

Kelvin was utterly outstanding in that first half. My MOTM.

I don't agree that Clyne merits a 7, he wasn't as good as Bertrand on the other side. To me it was frankly an below average match by Clyne, or at least I have come to expect a higher standard of him. Tom gave lowest grades to Davis and Tadić with which I agree. Davis was boringly ordinary in the first half, better in second when Wanyama got on. I didn't know Tadić was playing until he got substituted.

As I mentioned on the match thread, Alderweireld, Bertrand, SKD and Mane were the standout performers, while Long, Wanyama, Scneiderlin and Pelle were all very good.

Strikers need to score. Long and Pelle both played okay today, but Long put away his chance and Pelle didn't. So 7.5 for Long and 6.5 for Pelle.

Thought Bertrand was fantastic today, so he would get an 8. Mane was really good, maybe not quite an 8. Call it a 7.5.

I didn't see any problem with S. Davis today. The match suited his style of play and I thought he made some nice passes. Almost scored, too. That's at least a 7 in my book.

Fonte was a bit off today, and Alderweireld was great so I agree with a 6 and 8 there.

Tadic wasn't really bad, but was rightly subbed before he had the chance to make anything happen, so he gets a possibly undeserved 6.

SKD man of the match. Just because.

SKD was fantastic. That was exactly what you want from your backup keeper.

Bertrand was excellent today. No way only a 6. More like an 8. Watch the replay of the game and you'll agree. Davis second half was quality.

Davis 9. One routine save, One very good save and one fantastic save.. clean sheet.
    Clyne 7. Sound and supportive
Fonte 6. Not at his best but still did the important things well
Toby 8 The guy is class all the way through
Bertrand.7.5 Sound first half, made some good runs 2nd half and got forward very well for 2nd goal.
Schneiderlin. 7.5 Got stronger the longer the game went.
Tadic 5.5 Caught in possession more than once, never a threat.
Davis 6.5 Much improved after half time when he was able to push forward.
Mane 8. A threat all game, set up great chance for Pelle.
Long 8.5 Good finish with left foot. Threatened all afternoon. Used his speed and work rate to attack and defend effectively.
Pelle 5.5 Missed 3 good chances. Looks to be lacking in confidence. All his best work came outside the area.
Wanyama 7.5 Cool, calm and collected. Help make the second half largely stress free.

Up your marks for S Davis to 7 and Mane and Bertrand to 8 each and that's good.

When I watch Ryan Bertrand play as a LB come LW come sweeper, I wonder if Roy Hodgson has any ****ing clue about football.

I have been Pelle's biggest critic, but 5.5? Come on! We all know he needs a goal but his play today was pretty good. He only tried one champagne pass as well with most other things done simply and well and..... No flicks!!

The save that Kelvin made from Ings was outstanding. It can't be easy for him to just come off the bench and get himself in the right frame of mind. Thought he was tremendous. Bertrand was my MOTM though - was very bright in the first half, and had a field day in the second. A great crosser, and effectively stuck two fingers up to Hodgson.
