    You're forgiven, my child.

But good news - we have the leverage. No need to sell and if we do, we can maximise the price.

Raheem Sterling: Liverpool forward delays talks on new deal

Raheem Sterling has put contract talks with Liverpool on hold until the end of the season, says boss Brendan Rodgers.

The Reds manager said Sterling and his representatives had told the club he wanted to concentrate on his football.

The 20-year-old England forward's current deal expires in 2017 and he has yet to agree terms over a new contract.

"It has been made clear by Raheem's representative he wants to concentrate on his football and see what can be resolved in the summer," said Rodgers.

"I am sure it will be resolved and the concentration for Raheem is now on his football, and it is clear when those talks will begin again."

Sterling has been linked with Real Madrid and Chelsea but Rodgers said in February that Liverpool would not pay over the odds to keep him at Anfield.

Good that he's just going to concentrate on playing for now and this won't affect our games. Once the season is over LFC will know exactly what his influence has been and what he's worth. If he doesn't accept a reasonable deal then they can immediately start looking for a buyer and replacement.

They've been put on hold because the spoiled brat wants to wait to see if we get CL, same as De Gea. No CL = no contract.

    Have faith.

The rumours are that is agent is looking to split from his company at the end of the season, and forming his own agency.

Once or if that happens, the agent will be entitled to a bigger commission.

Rhc was adamant it would be fine, about a month ago now. Yet again his 'mate' has as much of an idea as we do.

Same as with Suarez for me, we will only sell him abroad and for the right money.

Not fussed if we sell him because he's easily replaceable.

I feel largely the same tbh. Will be sad to see him go but he's not exactly been setting the world alight this year. Not worth the hype at this time. Could be replaced quite easily with half of what we'll get for him because he's English.

He could of course sign a new contract now and then he could just as easily, more easily in fact, 'concentrate on his football' safe in the knowledge that it as all sorted out. It's obvious bullshit so he can hedge his bets and leave for a fatter pay-cheque and CL football if we won't be offering one or the other or both.

So since he wants to wait til the summer so he can focus on his football, can we assume that he's been playing **** lately because he's been focussing on his bumper new contract instead? Now realised his form isn't good enough to either warrant said contract nor go offers from elsewhere.

He's a good player, but on poor form. Still young and will improve, but he's not irreplaceable.

  13. It's not that long ago since Sterling signed a new deal so surely he'll have plenty of time left on his contact?

If were going to pay players "what they're worth" may I suggest a "blow on a rag man's trumpet" for lazy arse Johnson.

Think we should go to performance pay. Play **** don't get paid, play average get 50%, play brilliantly get 100% of the wage. :bandit:

Would mean we'd have paid Johnson about twice in the last 3 years. :emoticon-0148-yes:

Who makes the decision? Do we set up a poll on hereafter each game and can all vote (with mito being a **** as an option as well) and the average score for eah person works out their wage.

    A 7/10 gets you 70% of your weekly wage, a 3/10 only gets you 30% <ok>

Sub apearence you only get 50% of your weekly wage then your rating score is taken from that 50% as well.

Sounds reasonable. If Mito is a **** wins everyone gets double pay. <diva>
