If NP is sacked, & to be fair I would like him to stay on & build again next season in the champ´ship, we should really pay top dollar & get in a big name manager. But not a clown who is a name & hasn´t got a clue... SGE.

We need a manager that is good in the transfer market & has as much money as possible to turn us into a team to be reckoned with. A manager that will know what players to buy that will fit into our squad. The cash is there at LCFC & I think a top manager that can bring in some top players because of who he is the next step for us.
NP has done well on his 2nd coming (mind you some of his team selections are abit Q´able at times) but if he´s not a prem´ship manager then may be it´s time for a change, although I can´t be doing with a new manager every 4 weeks.

Not sure a "top" "big name" manager would be attracted by a championship team

Haven't people learnt their lessons from Sven that a top/big name manager doesn't guarantee nothing. If we go down and was looking at every available manager to take us back up then Nigel Pearson would be the one everyone would have wanted.

Changing manager doesn't guarantee anything, yes i get neither does keeping Nigel but we know our squad is more then good enough of getting us back up so why bring in someone to change it?

Can't really see many of the players busting a gut to get back in the Premier League again since they and the manager have been found woefully short of the skills required to stay in the league.

I seriously question whether the squad is more than good enough to get us back up. If they play like they have recently they have no chance. As sure as eggs are eggs the squad will not stay together

Schmeichel - Will want to leave
    Schwarzer - On Loan/Too Old
Hamer - Must be seriously p****d off

    De Laet - Stay
    Simpson - Not good enough
Huth - On Loan/revised my thinking might be a good signing
    Upson - Too Old
    Morgan - Too Old
Moore - Hopefully will realise his potential
    Waselewski - Too Old
    Konchesky - Not good enough
Schlupp - Will go if gets good offer

    Hammond - Too Old
Cambiasso - Hopefully will be manager
James/King/Drinkwater - Can't see anyone wanting them so will probably stay
Knockheart - Will go if he gets offer
Mahrez - Will go if he gets offer
Albrighton - Manager goes may stay if not probably pay to leave

Vardy - Will go if gets offer from premiership club, WBA?
    Nugent - Stay
Ulloa - Probably go to continental club
Kramaric - Stay for 1 season?
Wood - Go if offer received

If we were another team dropping down to the Championship, and Pearson became available, then you'd imagine we'd take him, clearly he's a class act in that division (Hull even did the exact thing last time he left us). However, in the Premier League he's just been useless, and quite frankly, embarrassing. I think he probably will still be at the helm next year, but won't get an awful lot of time if we start badly. This season's been so frustrating because we have waited such a long time for it, and it started so well!

I wouldn't. I think he'd have gone by now if that was going to happen. Relegation has been looming for months, so if that was a sackable offense, I think he'd have gone when some of our more fickle fans first started bleating (about three months ago).

i agree with Jack - if we're not in contention for automatic by, say, November, I reckon he'll be sacked.

I honestly believe that if we were to lose a couple more games on the bounce Nigel will go the same way as Poyet ... believe me I'd like nothing better for him to turn it around and thereby save his job ... I just can't see the owners sticking by him if we are relegated, particularly given the negative PR he has had this season ... just my opinion and only time will tell.

I do believe that, if given the chance, he'd either bring us straight back up (or go damn close) ... just don't think he'd be given the chance ... again that's just my opinion - but his goal for this season would have been to survive and if he hasn't acheived it I think it is curtains ..

I think his recent actions are perhaps the biggest threat to his continued reign. I somehow don't think we've seen our last incident this season, and the press are just waiting for his next outburst or bit of... erratic behaviour. I expect they'll be winding him up whenever they get the chance now. The media may end up making our owners minds up for them.

    Wouldn't say that.

We've played well a lot this season have been let down by individual errors all too often.

100% agree with you !! I'm sure sir Alex Ferguson made plenty of mistakes early on in his career...but look at him now...Sir NP needs time to develop as a manager

We haven't played well a lot this season, only occasionally and we couldn't score in a brothel.

The finishing I can't argue with, but we certainly have played well most of this season. Many of our player are playing in the English top flight for the first time, yet few sides have dominated us. If we'd been clinical and ruthless this season, we'd be well out of the relegation zone. But as you say we aren't sharp enough up front and as AKCJ says, we make too many individual errors at the back. It's a combination that doesn't bode well, but I've seen much worse Prem sides.

If we got rid of Pearson, who would we be looking for to replace him ... someone like Pearson who knows the Championship <ok>

I still think that (since i wrote on the other thread about 5 mins ago <laugh>) he'll have a few games next season to prove that he can bounce us straight back.

On the flipside if he were to be fired in the close season, i'd think Warburton would be the cheapest option, would like to see a bit of a curve ball and get someone like McCarthy, or pay top dollar to get someone like Lennon out of their contract.

... You are right Wizard ... we would, first and foremost, be looking for someone to get us out of the Championship ... someone like Pearson (on that particular aspect)............. but I don't think it will be Pearson ... because I think they will be looking for more than just the promotion next time around ...

Lennon's pedigree of European campaigns with Celtic would make him a prime candidate (the domestic success of Celtic would be put into perspective) ... and Warburton has worked a minor miracle at Brentford ... and was linked with us during the sacked/not sacked debacle ...

I view playing quite well as not losing most of the time. Pearson seems to think that we'll get some sort of Rugby-style bonus points if we get beaten narrowly. I'd much rather we get the odd thrashing and then win some games. Not being brave enough when we are a goal down, in my opinion. I'd almost like us to get thrashed as it might give some players a kick up the backside. You only have to look at the lack of changes in our side recently despite picking up two points in the last 7, or is it 8, matches?

Perhaps that is just a 'fan's mentality' - certainly I share it with you. It also comes down to maths - assume we play 4 games:

    1) Draw 0-0
    2) Draw 1-1
    3) Draw 1-1
    4) Draw 0-0

    Points 4, Goal diference 0

    or

    1) Lose 1-0
    2) Win 2-0
    3) Win 3-1
    4) Lose 2-1

    Points 6, Goal difference + 2

Seriously - will team morale feel better for going unbeaten in the first scenario or the fact that we get 2 more points on the board plus a positive goal difference in the secon - depite getting beat twice?

    I know which I prefer.

Matty James says a win could start our survival run. I guess he must be positive.

It would help us massive if Matty James either stopped shooting or learnt how to hit the target
