Really positive second half.

Thought most players grew into the game - first half belonged to Allen, Skrtel and Migs.

Far more candidates in the second half but Allen was brilliant. Very good little player to have in the squad.

Can struggled as did Sturridgr but Lallana continues to offer absolutely nothing.

Skrtel seems to have found his best position and he's doing well there. Sakho struggled initially but grew into the game was back to beasting. Loved it when Swans started jeering every time he was on the ball - by the end of the game, he was running through their team.

And for once, Gerrard wasn't a liability. Played pretty well. Still wouldn't have him starting any games.

Well done lads - excellent game, we were better in the first half, but more importantly you were better, and won, the second half. It was always gonna be a goal like that that won it - bit flukey but then again if you put balls into dangerous positions these things do happen (something we didn't do enough). Think a draw would have been a fair result but don't begrudge you the 3 points.

Must also say that your fans were the loudest we've had down the Liberty this season - as Brenda would say 'they were oytstanding!'

One question though; is Sterling still getting tired as he seemed to spend most of the match on his arse moaning? ;)

On this performance we should get past the 47 points we got under Brenda's reign and hope you get into the top 4 - good luck for the rest of the season, hopefully we can do you a favour at Arsenal in May!

The next 2 games will really show us where we are in relation to our rivals...
United at home and then ARsenal away after the Internationals.

As Neville says, I don't think it's winner takes all because United have 2 tricky games after against Chelsea & City as well. I think it's more a must not lose than a must win. A draw against nited & Arsenal might look like 4 points dropped, but it'll also be 2 dropped by two of our rivals as well and if United drop any more in their follow up games then still gives us a chance to overtake them going into the final 5 or 6 fixtures.

If we lose those two games then we're out of it

The biggest positive from tonight was Rodgers showing how tactically brilliant he is. Perfect tactical change at half time won us the game, most managers would have left it how it was and hoped the players would improve.

Deserves credit for a great second half performance but also deserves criticism for an awful first half - insisting that the full backs sit deep , which hasn't worked whenever we have tried that.

Just hope he sticks to having the wing backs being aggressive and playing higher.

Yeah, we were much better after the goal.
I'm still nervous in the latter stages though.
Like I said, I'm satisfied with the result, but I don't think we can bank on getting the right result often enough with that sort of game.
I've nailed my colours to the mast long ago, in that I'm much happier when we play a more forward thinking game and less of the containment stuff. There was very little of the pressing in the middle of the park that has brought us results recently, especially in the first half.

It was a tricky game and we did well to win, but I don't want to have to sit through too many more like that.
Can anyone really say they enjoyed watching that? Too much like watching the Chavs for me. <laugh>

You've all got me to thank for last night. In the last three games I've watched at the Grange, the same thing has happened. I said I was going for a piss and a *** as we always score when I do that. Balotelli scored. The next time, the same thing (Not Balo). I got a standing ovation for that one. Then last night. First half we were ****e. I needed a piss and a pint. I said I wasn't going to use it yet as it never works when I get a pint as well. We didn't score. The next time I said "This time for real. Piss and a ***. We always score when I do that". The whole club was up when I came back in. Are you watching Manchester? <laugh>

Monumental win, that <ok>

WELL it’s three points isn’t it? Wasn’t pretty, but a win is a win at this stage of the season. Up the Reds.

SIMON MIGNOLET 7
Saved all the balls that were kicked at him. You’ll get some lads moaning about his kicking but, call me old fashioned, I like my goalkeepers to keep clean sheets.

EMRE CAN 5.5
Did OK. Used the ball well and got rid when he had to. Made for the position — although his positioning is not always great.

MARTIN SKRTEL 7
Doesn’t get enough credit for being in exactly the right position when the opposition cross the ball. No Opta stats for that one.

MAMADOU SAKHO 6
Recovered well after some early jitters. Strong mentally.

JOE ALLEN 7.5
Man of the match. Some dodgy moments but more good ones than anyone else. Kept the ball when everyone else looked incapable. Gets out of trouble brilliantly.

JORDAN HENDERSON 5
Was hogtied a touch by early booking but didn’t pass it well enough.

RAHEEM STERLING 5.5
At some point in these contract negotiations the club may ask his agent when his last really good game was. But it wasn’t easy for him tonight.

ALBERTO MORENO 5
A little bit unfortunate to be taken off. Looked solid enough and could have been used more when in space.

PHILIPPE COUTINHO 6
Didn’t shine but he’s a tough cookie. Did a job for the team.

ADAM LALLANA 4
Needs to figure out how he helps Liverpool win football games.

DANIEL STURRIDGE 6
Didn’t get a great deal of service. Wasn’t great with what he had. Needs a couple of goals to put the skip in his step. So gutted the clever effort at the end hit the post.

SUBSTITUTES:
STEVEN GERRARD: Helped change the game. Won some good tackles late on. 6.5
GLEN JOHNSON: Wasn’t on long enough. N/A

Skrtel was MOTM for me, closely followed by Ming. That **** the defence turned up in the first half <yikes>
