Right. I thought someone meant he has a six game ban for this.

"Vardy ran across Huddlestone and dived."

Mr Merson thinks he was hard done by!

May I just remind everyone that when Hudds was suspened for 3 games in December we won two of them. Perhaps he will not be missed.

Can't see what else Huddlestone could do. He's not dived in once all game and he's got two yellows. People on here defended Cattermole's kick out at Meyler the other week but are criticising Tom for failing to disappear into thin air as Vardy ran across him.

I just think there needs to be a rethink about what qualifies as a yellow card.

They're thrown around way too easily these days, to the detriment of the game imo.

From the side angle it looked a clear foul, a stupid lunge and a possible yellow card.

The rear angle (the one the ref actually sees), it looks like Vardy clearly steps across Hudds and dives.

Either way the ref was eager to give a 2nd yellow for it.

As you say Dawson was covering, so your last sentence doesn't make any sense.

Dawson was covering but that doesn't mean he would have prevented Vardy getting a shot off!

He had to get past Dawson to 'let him through'. Dawson is the defender. Instead he hastily ran at him while Dawson was waiting patiently. I trust Dawson to defend well, he normally does.

May I just remind you that he was banned for four games, of which we won two and drew two.

So yeah I'm not in bits about losing Hudds for a couple games either, if anything I think it could be a blessing in disguise.

Still doesn't excuse the ref for being an out and out **** though!

We actually won 2 and lost 2 (Swansea and Leicester at home).

I can't believe that booking is being described as a 'lunge'. He did nothing of the sort.

So you're suggesting that Huddlestone should have let Vardy through for Dawson, who was also on a yellow card and was inside the penalty area, to deal with?

It wasn't long ago you were all criticising him for not getting stuck in. Now he is, you're criticising him for discipline.

I've never criticised him for not getting stuck in. Lack of effort, perhaps, in the Newcastle game.

So you don't think a player who misses six games of a season should have his discipline called into question?

Huddlestone had a good game up to the sending off, what surpised me was that he actually kept up with Varney, and was a bit unlucky with the challenge. However as other have said, better he did that outside the box, rather than let him get into the box and being give away a possible penalty.
