What the point of English clubs getting into Europe if ultimately they all fall short? What is this theory that the premiership is the best league in the world?

Best league doesn't necessarily mean the best teams. Week to week the Spanish and German leagues are absolute **** because the only question is how much Real/Barca/Bayern win by.

Pointless, because everyone has different definitions of what "best" means.

I don't why teams disrespect the Europa League. I can understand the disappointment at not getting into the Champions League, but a) it (now) provides a way into the Champions League and b) it help keeps a fourth CL spot for the Premier League, thus making it that much easier to qualify via the league.

What's happened to Barkley, the great blue hope, the next wonder kid ? Since last season, he has completely disappeared off the radar. May be too much pressure too soon,

Jonny Evans: Man Utd defender's spitting simply disgusting - FA

Manchester United defender Jonny Evans's actions in spitting at Papiss Cisse were "simply disgusting", said the FA panel which found him guilty.

Evans, 27, denied spitting at the Newcastle striker during the Red Devils' 1-0 win over the Magpies on 4 March, but was given a six-match ban.

"The ordinary man in the street will find his action to be simply disgusting," said the three-man panel.

"It should not be allowed in any walk of life, let alone any football field."

Manchester United argued that a six-match ban against Evans was excessive, the report also revealed.

"It is clear that Mr Evans is looking directly and indeed aggressively at Mr Cisse. His lips are 'pursed' and he is close to Mr Cisse," added the report by an independent regulatory commission.

"If he was, as alleged to be the case, a person who 'habitually spits', then the commission were concerned as to why he did not turn his head away from Mr Cisse when so spitting.

"If that had been a family member or indeed another team member or his manager in front and below him would he still have carried out the same manoeuvre?

"Mr Evans had (and has) a duty of care, if spitting for whatever reason, not to direct the same in the general direction of an opponent, or indeed anyone else. The video clips clearly show that he failed in his duty of care."

Apparently Evans just gozzes everywhere <doh>

common sense this.... they commented exactly what was visible in the video. hes looking at his target hand his forming a "spitting face"

basically they dont accept the accident version cos frankly the size of the gob wasnt anything like a say it dont spray it accident.

damning and evans comes off worse and cisse looks like ok you were stupid reacting and vile but you put your hands up

evans is a liar and a disgusting vile low dirty dog.

I just don't see why he denied it - did they really think he'd get off? Given that the ban's not been extended, he's not any worse off football-wise, but it makes him look a twat. (That said, I'm not sure he's crying himself to sleep about that...)

They had to try, Evans is the only defender they've got that isn't a left back!

I think he thought intent was an fa rule and apparently now it's not... You can kick someone accidentally and get sent off too

You can accidentally run 30 yards cod the other side might etc etc
