I see absolutely no way we'd afford his wages, wasn't he on like 45k a week or something daft at Man City? Awesome if true, sounds a bit far fetched to me though!

Two games in 6 months, a mid field player who has not impressed, we already have a player like him as in Beattie - no thanks !

Great player. when he was on form he was fantastic.
I say yes, get him fit, would be a great addition to our squad with Prem experience

I hope there is no truth in this, the guy is a petulant child, and simply not professional enough for our team, throws his toys out of the pram far too often for my liking, and yes he had some good times at Mancity, but not recently, we can do far better!.............

Think a fresh start is exactly what he needs and would get just that down here, would be a fantastic signing but yet again could see wages being a stumbling block.

As for us doing FAR better than him I really don't think so Jager considering the sensible approach the board takes. To get far better than him we would have to spend £4m+ easily, something that we wont be doing this season, next season after finishing mid table maybe but not this season :)

Everybody at Man City was/is on daft wages - look at Bellamy.

I was surprised to hear that he's only 24 - a couple of seasons or so back when he had that good spell with City I had the impression he was much older. If the wages are right and he can adept to our style why not give him a try.

Hargreaves would be worse than Beattie in terms of injury plus he's considerably older.

Hargreaves is free to a good home and will play on a pay as you play. He is extremely keen to play in the premiere league still. He has won titles in England and Germany, shone amongst the supposed golden generation in England's world cup and not forgetting he's won the champions league. He can play holding midfield or on either wing backs. I see him as a better bet than either Senna (if he'd not signed for Villareal)or Ireland. On the right contract he could provide the steel and experience we need including the strengthening in the positions we need, and if he gets injured he wouldn't get paid.

With reagrds to his age, he's only 30. Everyone was raving about buying a 35 yr old Senna the other day!

Jackdan when I was comparing him to Beattie it was because they are both injury prone, don't want him at our club at all, we want people who are fit and can stay injury free

    On loan perhaps.

He seems to have a poor attitude, fell off the map at City once he lost his place, failed to impress at Villa or Newcastle (2 "fresh starts" already and no change.

Ireland is a quality, quality player who looked one of the stand out performers when Man City first bought all the "galacticos" as it were, and could blatantly easily fit into our system. If we could get him we should, I just don't see it happening.

I think he'd be a great signing. I think he'd fit in well with our passing game which I don't think he's had the chance to do at his last two clubs since Man City. At Man City he looked fantastic. Wages would probably be a huge problem so I can't see it coming off!

We seem to have a knack of signing so called "failed to make an impact" players, and turning them good. Ireland is blatantly a quality midfielder, but the money will be too much for us I think.
