Thistlecrack for me in the Imperial Cup - rate him very highly, don't know what really happened at Cheltenham but ran a cracker at Ascot under Ruby and Aiden Coleman has the reins tomorrow. Decent-sized bet to swell the Cheltenham coffers

With all due respect Gallop I fail to see how he can be judged as being "well in". Soundly beaten by ARZAL who was beaten 15 lengths on his handicap bow off 139. He may well win tomorrow but the use of "well in" certainly is not applicable to this handicap debutante! His one saving grace is that I think he got beaten by a very good horse last time. Best of luck with him but I will pass and eat humble pie if he wins.
Welcome back though fella, good to see some who have been quiet coming back recently!

Now then all... Not posted for many a while now, changed jobs, different things going on in my life, etc, etc... I trust that we have all kept well and have been taking the bookies for all their worth...!!!

A little bird has pointed me towards one running tom at Sandown, 'Colour of the Wind', running at 3.45, and she seems to have split the bookies. Some go as low as 16/1 where some have her priced up at 33/1... Anyway ive had a little bit on her as if she comes in then its a bit more to give away at Cheltenham...:emoticon-0102-bigsm

Good luck to all this weekend and for next week, as im sure we all cant wait for that first race on Tuesday...:emoticon-0148-yes:

3 for me tomorrow ARZAL to continue progression in the Imperial Cup. WATER GARDEN better than the bare form suggest and can go well in the 3.55 AYR. ROUGE ET BLANC can take the 4.55 Sandown

Jump racing aside for a moment, over in Meydan looks a fairly decent card, nice to see Sole Power back altho his form figures out there are terrible!! But as a watching spectacle looks a Good one!!

Could be that Tizzard is going for it with him. Before his Cheltenham run I had him down as a lively outsider for the Neptune but he ran no sort of race that day. When Ruby rode him at Ascot he looked cooked 3 out but flew the last furlong going away. A not-so-young novice full of potential who could be absolutely chucked in off 135.

If he won tomorrow he would be in the Coral off a lovely mark!

Just a quick write up as im busy doing the Cheltenham preview 1. I like Arzal and Meadowcroft Boy in the Imperial Cup. Arzal was badly hampered in the betfair hurdle and it was very eyecatching how much ground he made up and definitely 1 of about 3 horses to take from the race. Handicapper has very leniently left him on the same mark and he must go close. Meadowcroft Boy has obviously been a cliff horse for me but the horse who beat him last time Glingerburn went on to beat the 149 rated Bristol De Mai giving him 9 lbs, was well backed last time and they must think he is nicely handicapped.

I wonder if today might be a case of sitting there at about 3.20 and saying "<doh> bloody hell Pipe wins the Imperial Cup AGAIN and I wasn't on AGAIN <doh>" <laugh>

Bidourey does look like a typical pipe runner laid out for the race!! But likewise come 3.20 will probably be wishing I have listened to my own advice instead of going with Fauscino Rustico <laugh>

I've been trying to keep a shut shop till Tuesday but I'm having a bit of a go in the Mares Bumper at Sandown today. Gordon Elliott's Gigginstown owned jolly WHISTLE DIXIE looks the one to side with. I've taken the 7/2 with B365 as the price has been shrinking from last night. Actually think she'll go off 2s. Hopefully the sight of Bryan Cooper in the Gigginstown colors in the winners enclosure is one we'll see a fair bit of next week ;)

    Good luck.
