There is actually precedent for this: Suarez's ban for racially abusing Patrice Evra was extended entirely because of Kenny Dalglish's persistent bullshitting.
The FA has laughed off Jonny Evans' claim that he didn't spit at Cisse and given them both a six match ban. Good. Cisse gets an extra game on top of that because it's his second ban of the season. Quite a loss for the Geordies. Less so for the Mancs. Both miss games against us.
Better than I would have expected, but Evans deserved an extra ban for lying about what he did. While what Cisse and Evans did was pretty despicable, the way Cisse owned up to it, and explained how disappointed he was in himself as a role model for children, was thoroughly admirable. Players lie about the nasty things they did, and after a year or two many if not most people believe them when they talk about how they got railroaded by the authorities (*cough* Terry and Suarez *cough").
Derby concede two penalties in injury time (93,96) and draw 2-2 with Birmingham! There'll be one fuming manager, a lot of upset fans and some very happy bookies. Top 4 of the Championship are all on 66 points. Norwich in 5th with 65. Mental division.
If they win today and draw Reading/Bradford then it is possible. They will have my support against Pool/Arsenal/Manu definately.
Have to say though, that Foster seems hell bent on conceding against Villa. Done them another favour today, even though Delph struck it nicely. Edit: I don't have to say, as it isn't Foster
I love the story he tells about Chelsea away last season. At the final whistle, the Chelsea assistant Steve Holland, said to Tim "Hard luck mate, you played really well and looked like you might get a result". Sherwood replied "Feck off you patronising **** " .
Villa fans are already wishing he'd shut up about his time managing us and start talking about the team he is managing.
I find him a lot more likeable now he's in another job. Despite that berk HolteLegend I actually quite like Villa as a club so I hope he does a good job with them. I'd certainly rather he was lifting the FA Cup at the end of the season than Wenger, Rodgers or Van Gaal... even though we'd never hear the bloody end of it Anyway, not quite Wembley but I'm on my way to Bournemouth next weekend. Could hardly have hoped for a better time to go with how finely poised it is in the Championship, incredible to have 1 point between the top 5 at this stage of the season.
Can't help feeling a Cup run will harm Villa's chances of staying up. Oldham, Sheffield Utd, Wigan.....it's happened so many times before to teams so many times before in the PL era with small squads and only so many goals in their locker.
Bournemouth v Blackpool. Should be at least 15-0 to the home side. Enjoy. Bournemouth are great to watch.
The race for the top four is hotting up. The race for promotion is crazy. Impossible to predict. As is the race for the 6th play off place in League 1. At least 10 teams in contention.
