How can the PR get any worse man <laugh>

Being relegated would be a disaster, attracting a few more hysterical headlines would be **** all tbh.

You'll get do-gooders like Jessica Ennis making it 100 times worse!

I'm fairly sure you're gonna get **** all out of Johnson anyhow mate, I'd imagine that's his head ****ed for this season at least.

I reckon if we picked him against Villa he'd play out of his skin ....... I know how I'd react under those circumstances.

If this case is dragged on for 12 months, and he doesn't play or train at Sunderland, his head will be a lot more fckd up imo.

This whole thing is starting to sound more ludicrous, by the day, and the club must have spoken to the player.

If they believe he's innocent they surely must have the courage to support him .......... cowardly if they don't.

Who in particular makes that call at the club though, only Ellis Short surely? The buck stops with him. For his own rep as a billionaire he can't be seen to take risks like that. It's by no means certain that Ched Evans 'raped' a girl but he damn sure got found guilty of doing so.

From my completely neutral point of view, if I was a billionaire, I wouldn't be associating myself with supporting anybody like that until the law cleared them, even if I believed the guy didn't do it 100%.

Wow, didn't know about the crime. Very surprised. Didn't know you were out west earlier either. Love it here, just very expensive. Make your way back.
Yeah mate was in San Francisco for 6 month and La for 6. The mrs is from Seattle , so we have spent a bunch of time there as well. Love it , but like you said pricey. We could never have bought a house. $50k a year here is living large.
I didnt realise it was a real redneck area when I was over there in 2009 on a golfing binge! Had an awesome time there. A slice of golfing heaven.
Yeah man, golf & redneck capital. The bike weeks here are MENTAL , for the "black" bike week we dont leave the house, haha shooting or 10 every night.
One of the bizarre claims to fame is that there are more mini golf courses per capita then anywhere else in the world.

Anyone can report concern about inappropriate behaviour between an adult & young people/child to the police/social care

..... that's how most offenders get caught

that explains why the police raided his house
To be arrested for the crime and not simply questioned in a safeguarding manner are two different things though Minxy - if he's arrested for having sex with an underage person it has to be reported by her - unless the law has changed in the last 8 years (since I worked for the courts)

Sorry MBC ..... the way I read what u had written sounds like others couldn't report concerns ..... would hate people to think that.

i have seen cases where people have been charged where the youngster is not able to give a verbal account because of age/disability but other evidence has been available ...... but I don't actually know the legal side of things

Yeah others can report concerns sorry I didn;t word it too well - but if the girl is able to speak freely and over the age of 13 then she must report the accused top have him arrested for the crime - if the police have acted without her say so then they have done it simplky for publicity. Her mother has gone to the Mirror already standing by her daughter! No surprise - if she bragged about the "relationship" then chances are he had no idea she was underage!!

I don't think anyone knows what has actually happened with this one, with everyone and their mothers expressing an opinion on it...I would really like to see anonymity for both the alleged victims and the accused in cases such as this until after it has been dealt with by the courts, as regardless of the outcome, both parties are going to suffer for many years because of the publicity.

I agree ....... it has turned into a media show ..... many lives are going to be affected whatever the truth is ..... it is just a sad reflection on today's society

Having only read the last page of this article, I am not informed about previous comments, but this girl has apparently been stalking Johno since he signed a shirt for her a year or so ago, and had become infatuated with him <smooch>. The problem seems to have been because he has rejected her advances, and she's behaved like a . . . . well, like a scorned 15 year old schoolgirl :emoticon-0126-nerd:

I hope that this is the case, and it does come from people that I trust, so the distraction should 'go away' fairly sharpish, like :emoticon-0105-wink:

Let's hope so
:emoticon-0100-smile

Disclaimer . . . . although I believe this to be the case, none of it is conclusive :emoticon-0127-lipss

Sincerely hope that's the case but I can't imagine his house was raided and he was arrested without more evidence than just a girl's unsubstantiated accusations.

Remember, this is Durham Police your talking about. They are the most clueless bunch of knackers you could ever meet, and their chief constable is under investigation,so he's probably authorised the whole thing so it deflects attention away from him.
