Really don't want a massive turnover of players at the club this close season. You only need to look at how poorly the team played at the beginning of the season to see what the effect of that would be. We need to address the creativity and goals in the team. Who provides the spark if Coutinho doesn't play? Who can knock in 20-30 goals a season. After watching Allen play yesterday and knowing we have Can too has made me reassess what we need.

    1) Top goalscorer that suits our style
    2) Another 'brain' of the team

All of our dosh needs to be spent on the above. If we can bring in a couple of quality freebies (Milner, Ings, etc) all well and good. So I'd prefer 3 new players, no more than 4.

Oh and promote a couple of the kids to the fringes of the squad. We seem to have that formula right atm <ok>

    I'd agree with that.

If LFc can fill in aorund and clear dead wood great but in reality..... there is a reason why rodgers will offer johnson a contract and its not to play, its cos he will be free expeirenced player... on half the wages....

we are needing to replace gerrard... not the gerrard of today but the gerrard of 5 years ago but thats hard. we are still looking for the suarez replacement IMO. thats not balotelli

in the end we will just have to see what happens.

Liverpool have needed the same things for the past 3-4 years.

    Top class RCB
    Defensive midfielder
    Central midfielder

These 3 players help build a spine and defensive platform to allow the creative players to flourish.

I can't see us buying another CB this summer, although I do agree that we need to get more balance than we currently have....Don't forget that we have Wisdom and Ilori coming back, perhaps they can step up?

Currently, we only have one decent striker option and he's been a sicknote all season. The rest are very much fringe players, that's totally unacceptable in a top 4 side. And if no Coutinho, who provides the magic? I'll stick to my wish list tbh. We've shored up at the back and if we can tweak and improve it with what we have, great....now it's time to address the options up front imo <ok>

Time to start playing Markovic in an advanced position.

And we also spent £25m on Lallana who should have been that player.

    Striker
    DM (if lucas goes)
creafive midfielder from can play in the middle and not a number 10.

remember we have Origi coming over next year as well but I'd get rid of Borini and Lambert in the summer as well as Johnson and gerrard. I wouldn't sell lucas but wouldn't surprise me if he did go.

Kondogbia/sisskho and pjanic would be brilliant buys for is I think. Exactly what we need

When you have a near perfect team like Liverpool it costs a lot of money for the type of player who can get a game for us

Anyway the cost works the same for others, (Lovren + Markovic + Balotelli + Allen) = (Fellaini + Mata + Powell)

  14. I go with three or four signings. CB, CM and FW with possibly a keeper for the fourth. We should be splashing out on quality players that are ready for the now too

Liverpool eye Villarreal's £12m striker and Mario Balotelli replacement Luciano Vietto
LIVERPOOL could have found a cheap replacement for Mario Balotelli in Villarreal striker Luciano Vietto.

please log in to view this image

Luciano Vietto (right) has scored 16 goals this season
Argentine Vietto, dubbed 'the next Sergio Aguero' joined the Liga club last summer after reportedly rejecting a move to Anfield, claim the Liverpool Echo.
He has scored 16 goals in all competitions this season and helped Villarreal qualify for the last-16 of the Europa League.
And his form has reportedly caught the eye of suitors, with Liverpool one of a number of teams to have ordered scouting reports in recent months.
Indeed, the player even discussed proposed bids with AS, stating: "If these great teams come forward and make an offer we’ll see.
"The offer would first have to be very good, but it would be very good for me and good for Villarreal."
Vietto is valued at £12million and is being seen as a cheap but productive replacement for Balotelli, who is expected to depart in the summer.
Balotelli, a £16m arrival from Milan just last August, has struggled to impress in the Premier League and is wanted by Italian side Sampdoria.
Should manager Brendan Rodgers cut his losses with the Italy international, Vietto is sure to be one of a handful of strikers the Reds will bid for as a replacement.

Suits us more than Balotelli and Lambert.

£12m could be a bit of a bargain but the comparison with Aguero is a bit unfair. Agueros been so brilliant in the prem because he's not just quick and nimble with Lowe centre of gravity but he's also really strong.

This is kid doesn't look like he has that side of his game so might gett bullied by CBs in England. Would definitely need to play with a partner I think rather than centrally on his own.

Have you not heard about Lamberts potential £5m move to Villa? The clubs agreed terms in the summer but Lambert wants more time to decide. We could profit.

I can see an Itialian club or even Sunderland paying a bit more than £5m for Borini.

Alberto is going crap at Malaga so forget that £5m though.

    -

    I say:

    In:
Aubemeyang, Lacazette or if we are going cheapo, Ings.
    Sergio Romero.
    Milner
And look at the market for creative AM/CM players. No use doing a Balotelli style signing if no one right is available.

    out:
    Gerrard
    Johnson
    Coates
    (All free)
Toure or Ilori (If the club feels Ilori's injury issue is to big a deal he should go)
    Aspas
    Alberto
    Lambert
    Borini

    Listen to offers for:
    Balotelli
    Jones
    Lovren
    Enrique
    Texeira

Yeah, but Villa were desperate in January, that won't happen during the summer. <ok>

I feel Ings will come regardless IF we can shift our other strikers. I say IF because Borini is a hard player to get rid of and if Mario and Lambo play that game, we'll be stuck with them for at least another season!! I don't see Lovren going anywere. I think he was one of BR's personal buys so will persist with him regardless for a while yet.

Interesting though that some of our best buys have been circa £10m > Can, Coutinho, Moreno, Sturridge.....We don't necessarily have to spunk £30m on a player unless he's a nailed on cert imo.

Texeira has started to play some decent stuff for brighton in the last couple of months. Added a few goals to his game as well.

Be interesting to see him during pre season next year as could start to provide that creative spark that we miss when Coutinho is out or not on form.
