Said the game changed on the penalty today?

    Absolute nonsense.

We were dominated 90% of the time and isolated Defoe all game.

We put Wickam on the wing, and pumped long balls up to Defoe, where is the sense in that?!

Gomez again, far too slow and continuosly gave what little possession we did have away.

    Catts on seb worked hard.

We set up for a 0-0 draw and was looking to deny the inevitable all game.

Now before people tell me we should expect that at old Trafford, I don't agree. Utd have been weak all season and are terrible defensively. We gave them all the confidence they needed to win the game.

Poyet is ruining our club. He's well below standard, and is leading us towards a relegation.

If we stay up this year, it will be more of a miracle than last year. I just hope the teams below us keep losing, because we are getting worse.

We were beaten by a better team today, little to no reason to make excuses or blame one thing or another. Just hold our hands up and do better against a side we should be getting a result from.

I dont agree in its entirity, i dont think man utd were looking like scoring until that incident, who knows pants may have saved the effort, i thought we were resolute until that and maybe should have capitalised on the early mistakes, i agree about gomez though i thought he was pretty **** tbh, our worst player today imo, tuesday is the big one, if he cant get a performance out of the lads for this and we roll over like we did on boxing day he could be a gonner, this place will meltdown if we dont turn up again.

Anyway i can take todays defeat coz imo we did ok, the first half was a good game to watch, obviously the penner and sending off changed the game, thats what **** like that does, jos should have let him have a pop, as somebody said on another thread, rather be 1-0 with 11 than with 10

I'm not surprised you're disappointed if you think we are that bad.

You should probably check your facts though, there's a difference between playing unattractive football and weak football.

I'll give your fans credit but your team barely touched the ball today.

While Man u were poor in the first half the players should have had a go, but clueless poyet and players could not latch on to that. defeat at Hull and that is that for him, we have to go there and attack from the start. And yet another ref balls up. And what about Fletcher at Bradford, same thing but **** ref.

Well to put it into international terms - we're not Brazil we're Northern Ireland.

Home fans must dread playing Sunderland, Poyet has us playing so dull. FFS people go for entertainment, we got what we deserved today, should have had a go and died on our sword. Gus has no balls.

Think Gus has a point we weren't being opened up, the pen was the key moment. We weren't doing enough with the ball after a good start, so u could say we might have eventually conceded but nobody in their right mind could say Sunderland aren't highly capable of drawing a game 0-0 against anyone!

People saying Utd are **** or there for the taking are wrong. They've lost something like 1 in 18 so why people expect us to go there and win is beyond me.

Good start, faded, key moment was the pen and red. No big deal, on to Ull

Utd have just lost to Swansea, who have just sold bony.

People say we defended well for 60 minutes, that's true, although utd did miss a couple chances.

BUT teams like utd will always get a major chance, which makes it pointless playing for a 0-0. They will always get an opportunity, and when they score, it makes the 60s minutes of defending for a 0-0 absolutely pointless.

If we have some balls and get a goal, they have to get 2 goals to win, and it's harder for them.

All the time we sit back and invite them on praying for a 0-0, the inevitable will always happen, and to no suprise it did today.

You can throw all the positives you like at the defending up to the 60th minute, Utd got there chance and made the 60 minutes of defending absolutely irrelevant.

If we actually tried to score a goal instead of constantly playing for 0-0 draws, we would have more points than we have now. Our team isn't too bad, but our manager is clueless and gives negative a new meaning, takes it to a new level.

We went 1-0 down and he took Defoe and whickham straight off and put Vergini and graham on. I mean what the **** is going on in his head?

Watched the game live in a pub in Corby.

The second half was dire, we couldn't string 3 passes together.

Why is it so hard for professional footballers, on shed loads of money every week, to keep possession of the ball?

The amount of times we gave the ball away was just embarrassing!

"United have been weak all season"

What utter tosh. Only 2 teams have been stronger... LEAGUE TABLE DOES NOT LIE!

I would've hoped for a 0-0. Was gutted RVP was injured as that meant Rooney would play further up. (And RVP has been pretty poor recently)

Utd have been shaky, and not their usual fluent footballing selves, but the are third in the league for a reason
