Fully agree with this, it'd be a good start to replace the old codger that's responsible for them as he's obviously either totally clueless or well past his sell by date
If it's the one I'm thinking of it came back very quickly and definitely went into the QPR fans (only by about 10 seats or so) someone sat near me in E4 said if that came in here it wouldn't have come back that quickly.
It was a Villa player warming up that passed it to him and it was the same ball that had just gone out, but otherwise, well remembered!
New to the forum - new to forum - I sit in e7 and could nt help myself Saturday but had to shout at the guy who looks after the ball boys. In my opinion the ball boys are a part of the team are they not ? They can control the tempo of the game . So why are they not taught as part of the team . Winning slow the game down , losing or chasing the game get the ball back as quickly as poss - simple strategy or not ?? And as for the crowd throwing the ball back , north west corner 93mins QPR get a corner the ball was thrown directly to the player taking the corner !!! I know where I'd have sent it !!
I think I yelled at him a couple of times on Saturday, once telling him to get his hands out of his pockets... Whether he heard me as I sit in the upper echelons of E7 is anyone's guess.
Early onset alzheimers to blame...get rid of those plastic chairs the ball boys sit on and we could do the same. That goal screwed us that game...
What also doesn't help is those angled ad-boards that sit behind the video ad-boards that span the North/south and east stand touchline. The ball falls in the gap in-between and our superfast ball boys struggle to grab the ball with one hand to fish it out.
Could someone who is invited bring it up at the next fan meeting with the club? This can be quickly solved i'd imagine with a little planning and some motivation from the club. Most of the ball boys are academy boys right? If they're lazy now they'll make poor players in the future.
That could be a use for the rest of our squad, get them jogging laps around the outside of the pitch, throwing back any balls that come their way. Keeps them fit and improves our ball boy situation!
I must sit two rows behind you then as I saw you (plus the person next to you?) shout to get the ball boys moved and he waved his hand at you to simmer down?
Absolutely agree. It's be great for this to be raised at the next meeting as it isn't the first game they've been a problem. The second set of advertising hoardings facing us don't help either. I doubt they bring much revenue in for those paying for the advertising and they just trap the ball between them.
yes, you must . I sawyour post and thought I had to sign up and reply . It was my brother and me ! I tend to get a little passionate to say the least ! But when the old fellow told me to shhh ?? I was ripping my hair out second half ! No ball boys south stand end could have cost us 5 minutes and a win . As luck was on Saturday we did it within the 90 mins . Tell me to sit down next week against Sunderland so I know who you are .
You were well within your rights as a supporter to question why the ball boys were situated the way they were.
Remember the you ng ball boy for Swansea ? I want our ball boys like that . I doubt our ball boys know what score it is !!!
I get the impression some (just some) walk around like the big "I Am" in the City gear thinking they're a first teamer. It's gone to their head already.
