It was a penalty, learn the rules. A Penalty will be awarded if a challenge uses 'reckless or excessive force'. The Amount of contact is not decisive.
Yeah Brady!! Didnt you see how the keeper recklessly and excessively didnt touch him by about 2 foot?
I'm pleased we have honest players at like project Hazard who try to stay on their feet the majority of the time.
majority of the time... I'll have you know that over 90 mins Rooney also stayed on his feet the majority of the time lol
It's not true and why would I be crying? Chelsea are out, therefore I don't really care what happens in the FA Cup. Rooney dived, that is the top and bottom of it.
Again, where am I displaying outrage or crying? I'm countering the fact that some of you seem to be defending him.
Dont worry Drogs, its the most bizarre and ****ed and childish thing on these forums...... to attach your own interpretation of someones feelings to a post and run with it, especially the "Your crying" thing or the "meltdown" thing. And I will clear this up so there is no debate, that DOES enrage me. Because its ****ing juvenile.
That bastion of morality and high standards of behaviour Stan Collymore has condemned Rooney on his show. The ex-RS idolised by RS fans as one of their greatest said he should not have dived as he is captain of England. Collymore himself did more damage to English football's image than anyone could have done with his exemplary behaviour. As for Rooney, I applaud him. He is a great example to all kids. It was pure self preservation as Hodgson himself said. He did whatever he could not to get injured and had to protect life and limbs. He never dives like The rat, sturridge and sterling. And thats FAKHT.
Playing in a dangerous manner doesn't need contact to be a foul. A sliding tackle that doesn't touch the ball forces the player to jump out the way or risk being injured is still a foul. Although as there was no contact between the players the ref should have given an indirect free kick rather than a penalty.
I know I was just ****ing about at the terms reckless and excessive on a tackle that didnt even touch the player. I get why Rooney jumped out of the way. The only thing I dont get is why, upon landing from his lofty 3 foot leap, he chose to fall on his keester instead of landing on his feet.
