That he can't make you play "nice" football and win.
Thats not necessarily what I am saying though.....

I have already stated this season is entertaining. 1 sided games where the winner is always obvious are about as dull and boring as football gets. Games where both sides feel like they can win makes for a far better game.

We've been poor in many games but there's a good 8 or 9 games where we have played well. In some we have been great. Even against Burnley we had our moments. Di Maria second half was good, hes always going to entertain. On the flip side you can only laugh at some of our defending in games. It often works but my god, it looks hilarious. I just imagine someone (probably Evans) shout PANIC! every time the opposition come forward <laugh>

And Saint, winning while playing badly is what separates the champions from the rest. Liverpool played the best attacking football last season. City ground out wins. One finished champions and the other will be a forgotten memory.

We've played good football many many times this season. Whether in spells during a game or for a full game. This rubbish about us being awful all season is exactly that, rubbish.

    We have been unpredictable.

That's the whole point, he buys a load of attack minded players and doesn't use them properly, drops the clubs 2nd best ever goalscorer into a holding midfield position.

3rd highest scores in the league. In 3rd position.

I can list all the games where we scored 2+ goals in a game if you like?

    I agree with you.
I wouldnt say LvG has failed at all.
I dont think he has done as well as I thought he would, but I certainly wouldn't say he has failed.

We are a lot like Chelsea last season. Missing a few key players that will make the difference (next season hopefully). For you guys it was a striker and a creator from midfield. You got them and that 3rd place finish last season now seems worth it.

Its like that for us. A Depay and Hummells double with maybe another CM will transform the side. Just need to remain competitive and in the top 4 this season.

City scored 102 and conceded only 37, had 7-0, 6-0 etc wins.

They clearly though United would walk the league this season. Hence their shock and obsession that we are in a lowly third place.

When needed they certainly did. Unlike you guys. Hence why City are champions and you are a forgotten memory.

remember that season Liverpool finished second? Me neither....

Knock yourself out, and while your at it list a like for like comparison with Moyes, you wouldn't be able to squeeze a rollie paper between them.

I agree mate. It's only a step away from - it doesn't matter if we cheat, as long as we win. Ideally fans want to win and play nice football that surely goes without saying but it seems some just want to win at any cost.

I completely agree with this. However, this only applies to the odd bad game here and there, it shouldn't become a way of life or an aim in itself.
We all have bad games and if we scrape the points we're lucky, but we should be looking to bounce back immediately. I've endured some awful games where we've played badly but ground out a result, and the points are only compensation for 90 minutes of torment, they don't make it go away. :)

All banter aside, I think LvG is trying as many different combinations as he can because none of them are quite working out as he'd hoped.
The same happened with Rodgers- he was accused of just being lucky, but it's more a realisation that what you thought would work out hasn't and you have to keep experimenting until it does.
Rodgers seems to be closing in on the right formula now, maybe van Gaal will come good (in terms of performance quality) as well.
    Though I really hope not.*
    *Back to banter.
Actually, that's not true- I hope you start playing really attractive football and lose. <laugh>

We provide a very nice platform for them to slag us off, were it on their own boards, most of us wouldn't see it <laugh>
