Now Lambert's been sacked, Villa now face a huge problem as to who an earth is going to want to take that job?

It's a team playing the worst football in the league, the atmosphere is appalling, there's no window to buy any players that the new manager thinks could help them survive the drop plus the fact the owner doesn't seem interested in backing the manager with genuine funds anyway and finally they're strong candidates for relegation.

The calibre of manager they'd be looking at is Neil Warnock... Whom would just help accelerate their plight into the Championship.

For me Mark Hughes could be lured away from Stoke.

As has been said, it's a thankless task. Plus I can't see Villa paying up to get the players or the managerial talent they desperately need.

Unless the owner(s) pull their finger out, the drop awaits, as it has done for some time now.

Yep. He should've been sacked ages ago.
When one of your relegation rivals has a striker that's scored more goals than your entire team and it's February, then you should walk.

I think it's actually a fairly good job to go for. Decent sized club and the fans are absolutely at their lowest.
The squad's got some very good players in amongst the dross, so they should stay up. Then you just have to have a little clear out.

Sherwood's faith in youth players could be key for them, if he takes it.
Their academy has brought through some very interesting prospects, so he could build on that and push them further.

There will be loads of people interested in taking the Villa job. Within the game they are seen as a big club. If they could get an owner who is actually interested in the club and give funds to a new manager, then along with their decent fan base and a decent youth set up, then the job could be a great opportunity for someone.

Glad to see Ramsey getting the QPR job until the end of the season at least. Funny how I seem to like him more now he's not sat next to Sherwood every week :D The game needs more black managers so it's good to see him getting his chance in the top flight. Who knows quite what Fernandes was on about earlier in the week but getting them their first away points of the season with a 2-0 win was a good start and hopefully he'll impress enough to stay in charge beyond this season.

It has the potential to be a very big club. There is a lot of support and potential support in th area. But, the current owners don't seem to give a toss. Maybe they will when the inevitable relegation comes?

The same could be said about Birmingham City, albeit for very different reasons.

Why is the owner not caring? This is Aston Villa. One of the founders of the league with a tremendous history.
The manager has well worn out his welcome.
But,then, maybe a trip down to the lower levels might get them going again.
I seem to remember Spurs having a hard time of it in the League Cup Final against a 3rd Division team some while ago. What was their name now? Oh yes! Aston Villa........and,later European glory.......

Disagree. Admittedly I don't read spanish papers but my impression was that the media didn't take his ****. The media here are reporting on it all like there's nothing stupid and hypocritical about what he's saying and allowing themselves to be bullied by him.

    It was similar with Fergie.

Embarrassingly poor first half performance by West Ham and they could be even further behind than they already are.
Inept defending, absolutely toothless up top, lacking in both quality and fight in the midfield and losing all of their individual battles.
Allardyce will be furious and I can't see them putting in such a bad 45 minutes after the break.

Hope they play that poorly next week, but I seriously doubt it. They'll be far more up for it, at least.

Baggies fans singing "You're even worse than the Villa" with the score at 3-0.
    Oh dear. Awful.
