What will Liverpool win in the 2014-15 season...?

  1. Premier League

  2. Champions League

  3. FA Cup

  4. League Cup

  5. As much as Everton and Spurs!

People on here have said United are ****e mate. Not you but others certainly. I have very little issue with the team/squad for our aims this season. It's more than capable tbf

Simple. The midfield makes a mistake and we get cut open. Something demostrated many many times earlier in the season when we played blind, herrera and di maria as a midfield 3. It looked great but it also invited the opposition in on goal with barely and resistance.

Having a capable midfield is pointless without a comparable defence behind it. Its a team game after all. Fixing one part means nothing if another is broken.

  4. There is no right or wrong answer to this discussion. Like most things in football, it comes down individual opinion and preference.

I'd always opt for entertaining football first and foremost. I watch football to be entertained. Sure winning a trophy is fantastic but it happens a maximum four times a season. Whereas teams play a minimum of forty games a season.

It was United winning things that attracted the masses lad same as happens at every other successful club.

Only when they stop competing at the top end of the game for an extended span would the fickle end of their support start to drift. What you're trying to suggest is merely your wishful thinking, or as I said at the off, a kopite wet dream

Its about getting back up this season. Not arsed how we do it as long as its done.

Plenty of time for van Gaals real style to show through. The objective this season though is to get back into the Champions League. Everything else is a bonus.

Are you honestly saying that the way we're playing isn't "inviting the opposition in on goal"? Burnley were attacking in waves lol. We were chasing shadows. They had 6 players up with every attack. 10 chances on goal to our 3 just in the first half.

We were complacent against Leicester but we weren't against Hull playing those midfielders with Fellaini (or Blind or Carrick).

Here's where your argument falls down mate. Possession football, possession with purpose. If you have creative midfielders...
    1) You take the pressure off your defence
    2) You keep the opposition defending
    3) If you keep the ball, they can't have it.

There really is NO excuse for the **** we're playing. It adds nothing to our defence (if anything it embolden the opposition to attack more).

AND it is NOT a choice between playing well or winning. We can do both with the players we have fgs!

It's also a different discussion for fans of teams who aren't competing to win the premier league [the vast majority of football fans]. utd fans have been spoilt like Liverpool fans were in the 70's and 80's when you can lose sight of why you started watching football in the first place.

Creative midfielders put more pressure on the defence as they take more risks. Defensive midfielders however do take the pressure off. It's their job to do so.

We have been keeping the ball. Regardless of the line up. We dominate possession.

We do still invite pressure but not like before.

You can have both. That's not the point though. Rooney does neither of those jobs in midfield. Mata and Anders on the bench but persisting with Falcao with Rooney in midfield. It's nothing to do with anything you're arguing UIR

And Hull??? Playing with those very midfielders plus Fellaini. No excuse mate. Our defence was out injured. You can't take a game played 6 months ago and use that as an excuse when our defenders aee back, and you'v3 started those same midfielders since then and put in your team's best performance of the season and won convincingly.

Nah, maybe the newbie breed of their support but there are others that were there for their style of play.
What your doing is let your bitterness cloud your opinion, your lame logic that none of the yoonited supporters are not glory hunters is ****ed up.

It clearly does. You state we can do both despite all the evidence showing we currently can't.

We have done what you say is the answer. We got hammered. Forget about players playing in strange positions.

  16. Of course. Pretty sure the likes of Leicester, Burnley, etc would taking extremely **** football in return for points too

This just illustrates the point I've been making but which you fail to address. What is the reason to watch football- is it to be entertained or simply to be able to say to someone "my team's won more than yours" ? If it's the latter you have to take a long hard look at yourself (anyone, not aimed at you particularly), and ask why that is important to you.
Why would anyone choose to spend a significant part of their lives watching something dull just to have some spurious bragging rights?
Any spectator activity is meant to be enjoyed, not endured, and attempting to bask in the reflected glory of a victory we ourselves have played no part in is a little sad.
We all want our team to win, and we all have to accept that sometimes they play badly and if we're lucky to get the points, we should just take them and keep our heads down, rather than try and make out it's some great achievement.
All teams have bad games or bad spells, but the aim should be to work through them to something better, rather than sit back and say "we got the points, and that's all that matters".
