Apart from the dreadful performance again against a really piss poor side, getting a point could be the worst possible result. A point gives Slade something to hang his hat on like at Sheff Wed on Saturday, whereas a loss to an outfit like that last night would surely have P45 written all over it.

Those supporters who hold the opinion that whatever more havoc Slade can wreak on the playing side of the club, we wont go down because there are 3 other sides worse than us had better start thinking again - this is much tighter than you'd think. This has all the classic hallmarks of a complete slide into oblivion.

With Millwall and Leeds both winning again, it's far too close to call and the gap to the drop zone is now only 6 points.

We could end up grateful to Malky this season for a very different reason than the fact that he took us up. If Wigan lose tonight at Forest, for me that's them and Blackpool virtually gone, but that 3rd drop spot is wide open. If we don't beat Blackburn next Tuesday, Slade had better be gone before we're condemned to battle to finish 21st let alone mid table.
 
Just another thing. As if to prove that Slade isn't the only one out of touch at the club, the two guys who sit behind me came up with a classic between them.

Apparently, Brighton were dragging us down to their level - FFS! <doh>

I desperately want Slade gone but points like that 1 could well be the difference between 3rd or 4th from bottom in May.

It doesn't excuse the performance but last night killed whatever hope I had Slade might turn things. The myth he needed to put his own stamp on the squad has been destroyed. It doesn't matter what players you have if they go out with a lack of ideas, no game plan and a total lack of intensity (which is very different to a lack of effort).
 
36% possession.. Says it all really..

No flare, no fight, we dont even look like scoring in a million years and even when we do score, we look so much like conceding its unreal.
 
Anyone else think this has become like harking back to last season in the Prem? We were all saying it didn't matter a monkey's toss how we did against the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs et al, we needed to beat the teams around us to be safe.

Well that's where we are right now.

Forget the challenge of the return games against Brentford and Bournemouth, games that we should be relishing. After Blackburn, we're on the road at Huddersfield and Wigan - now there's two really important games, and that says it all about how far we've fallen.

True 6 pointers now, but at the wrong end of the table.
 
I can't see us getting anything from the Huddersfield and Wigan games.
It wouldn't surprise me if we don't win another game this season.
The third relegation spot is beckoning and Mr. Potato head is in total denial of the problem.
Even if he accepted we are in trouble he doesn't have a clue what to do about it.
 
Relegation is sadly a real possibility now after witnessing that last night.

Liker Villa fans, the only possible salvation is to replace the manager now.
 
Not completely, he just said it's unrealistic! What planet is this guy living on?

"I wouldn't say it's gone but it's looking unrealistic," he admitted.
"We've got to put some real consolidated run together to get us up there.
"It doesn't mean it's impossible. It can happen, teams have done it before.
"At the minute we don't look like we're capable of doing that. We need to be picking up wins."
 
EVERYONE else can see we're one of the worst sides in the division and praying we'll somehow stay up. Those comments should be enough to get him sacked as the first step to fixing any problem is acknowledging it exists. The bloke's a complete ****.
 
Slade is not the problem any more it is Tans problem now and it is him who you should be venting your anger at. .He has the power to do something about it and the more he says "slade has his full backing" makes you think who is reporting back to him how cardiff are playing as he must be under the impression that slade is doing ok..
 
In a way Dai you're quite right. All roads do lead to Rome (or Kuala Lumpur in this case), and the decision to appoint Slade in the first place was reported to have been Tan's.

The question is who exactly was advising him on the other side of the world from over here? Tan would never have heard of Slade - in fact, outside the likes of SAF, Mourinho and Wenger etc, I doubt he could quote you another half a dozen even in the Prem. Slade from League One would have been well off his radar.

You are right that no matter what has been done to get us into this mess, it needs to be undone. That definitely depends on Tan.

Dalman and Choo need to tell him if they haven't already done so that his choice for manager to replace the hapless Ole was a duffer and has to go.
 
He has to sack him in the summer and i think you will pick up enough points to stay clear of relegation and hopefully someone will have a man to man talk with tan and put him in the true picture, whoever recommended slade in the first place to tan also needs to be removed from the club....
 
Back to the thread subject - what about this Tuesday's game? What would be the worst possible result.

In terms of points, then a loss is the obvious answer, but to me a the single point from a draw will just prolong this agony.

I'd take the 3 points anytime, but failing that I'd want a loss if it would guarantee Slade on his bike.
