Will never wish City to lose and a win would help bolster confidence which has been non-existent in receny months. Yes, that would prolong Slade's tenure but I'm not sure further radical changes are for the best now unless there is no choice, I.e. another poor display and defeat. It will be interesting to see how Trollope fits into all of this. As Head Coach I see him in charge on ghe training group and implementing the manager's ethos and tactics. Okay an immediate flaw there but on the other hand as Head Coach he should be higher in the pecking order than Young and should be able to recommend changes and improvements to Slade. We shall see.
That's what I meant - defeat on Tuesday would very difficult to absorb without some serious changes in the management structure. Trollope's appointment could do one of two things. Buy Slade some time to get some tangible results from Trollope's influence, or conversely be the signal to ditch Slade sooner rather than later with at least someone on board to replace him if only in the short term. I also stated that the 3 points would be my choice on Tuesday from the pure mathematics of the table, but a loss (as long as it had the desired results) might not be the worst result - a draw again would be.
Being as positive as I can be about the club right now....... Trollope will hopefully freshen us up a bit. The whole set up looks stuck on a one way trip to league 1. Maybe a fresh voice in training can liven up a talented set of players and get the wins we need to avoid the disaster on the horizon. At the very least he might get us either passing the ball or playing long ball properly. However my most positive thought is that he's been brought here to manage the rest of the season when we lose tomorrow and the board have to sack the Young/Slade debacle.
Please, please, please say you're quitting. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/cardiff-city-live-russell-slade-8652384
If City win tomorrow then they leap up the table. Let's be optimistic and aim for at least a draw. New coach with fresh ideas. Players itching to get out there after a weekend off. No, ok I'll get my coat.......................
