Haven't seen anything of him mate but i'll take your word for it.

I know Ki went off the boil towards the end of last season but he was carrying an injury which required surgery. I'd have him back like.

Ability wise, absolutely, but there is a mentality issue there, people say the injury, lets not forget the lad also got hoyed out the national side for a while.

I'd take him, sure, but I'd take many more first. Even from Swansea I'd take Sigurdsson and maybe Shelvey first.

I only mentioned stats because I was asked what my criteria was when I said we 'should have won'. It's a fair criterion along with observation. Neither you nor I need to over-analyse it. Most of us have said a similar thing about our team from time to time.

I included the possession stats for the sake of completeness but I thought someone would mention that. I notice you didn't mention the shots on target. <laugh>

Still think we should have won it and if you're honest you would too. I agree with you though it's the score that matters in the end, no argument there.

I thought I had covered that when I said, "It is pointless singling any player out as the reason behind a result, they are in the team to do that job whether it be make saves, tackle, assist or score".
That's why a goalkeeper is between the sticks, to stop the ball going into the net, it isn't rocket science. You should cast an eye at the Swansea players who had the shots and failed to beat our keeper.

So we agree then, you shouldn't have won <ok> I can honestly say that I have never thought that we should have won about Sunderland or any team I played in, I have always thought that is our fault that we didn't win <ok>

I'd take Sigurdsson no sweat, class player, Shelvey's good but would he fit with Gus's style? probably would. Hear what you are saying re: Ki as well, abundance of ability but definite issues with mentality, probably swayed too much by his father/agent.

Good game, lads. Think both teams are happy with a point based on the game. We dominated play which was a refreshing change, but you guys always looked a threat on the break so it was definitely a hard-earned point for both sides. I agree that you may have been declined a penalty, but I think that decision was just as touch-and-go as Ki's alleged offside. Both of Ki's feet were behind the last defender, his waist was level and his upper body was slightly ahead. A couple of decisions that could have gone either way IMO, so 1-1 is fair game.

Enjoy the rest of your season, lads, and see you next term! :emoticon-0148-yes:

What difference does that make?

The definitions in the offside rule state:
"Nearer to his opponents’ goal line” means that any part of a player’s head,

body or feet is nearer to his opponents’ goal line than both the ball and the

second-last opponent. The arms are not included in this definition"

Basically any part of the players body that they can legally score a goal with so Ki was ruled offside correctly <ok>

Possession means nothing in football, its goals that count. You can have all the possession you want in your own half, you are not going to win many games from there. It is pointless singling any player out as the reason behind a result, they are in the team to do that job whether it be make saves, tackle, assist or score.

I can recall Swansea playing at our place a couple of years ago and dominating possession along your eighteen yard line and we beat you 2-0. The only stats that matter is the final score <ok>

I was going to mention that, Swansea had 70% possession that day but never troubled us, about 7 or 8 shots on target as well. The shots were mostly straight at the keeper from outside the box or lame efforts that never put our keeper in real danger. A bit like today <ok>

I can't think of anything more boring or difficult to watch than possession football played across your eighteen yard line. <ok>

Well we're agreed then.:emoticon-0140-rofl:

You just a small club from wales. If we was full strength then you wouldnt of scored. Ki is ****, always back or side ways passing

Remind me again how many times you've finished above us since our promotion? <whistle>

Ki was player of the Tournament in the Asian Cup and was again outstanding today. Shame you're too disingenuous/ blinkered/ thick (delete or insert 'and' as appropriate) to acknowledge that.:emoticon-0181-fubar

Or..... you're being sarcastic in which case I take it all back and you're a real hoot. <ok>

Replay shows he was slightly offside mate so the decision was correct. He was not as far off side as the other major chance that you missed first half that the linesman missed though..

Tell you what mate, I know you've had a pop at the level of support & singing at the SOL at times.

But, I'm just in from the match and the Swansea crowd was deathly for long periods.
They had 5 minutes, after the equaliser, but apart from that it was just the idiot with the drum ....... you never have a sniper's rifle when you need one <laugh>

The truth is apart from Palace, in the league at the moment the reality is all home supports are pretty quiet with the away support making most of the noise. Still shouldn't stop us trying to raise the noise at the SOL however, because Palace and our first years in the SOL show it is possible...

I agree with that mate but this was shameful ........... even the Swansea supporters next to us looked embarrassed.
