All in by the weekend according to reports and another lot of solid players to push us on.

There has been a lot of talk about Brown and O'Shea but they will bring much more than just what they show on the pitch. We have a young squad with only one player in Malbranque above 30 we need a couple of experienced players and these two guys have been there done it and got the t-shirt they will help the young lads. As for them on the pitch I think they are solid signings IMO over the last few years especially away from home games such as Stoke and Wolves last year for example our youthfulness and lack of experience cost us the oposition bombarded us for the last ten minutes and not only did they equalise they went onto win, these two lads are just what is needed to calm the storm and see things out till the final whistle.

As for Vaughan never realy payed attention to him but seems as though he was arguably Blackpools best player last season even with the impressive Charlie Adam in there squad. Will be a good squad signing IMO and surely spells the end of Darron Gibson's move to the SoL.

If we get these in our squad is certainly starting to take shape think all we need to do then is add a top quality creative midfielder who can play down the left (Kranjcar or N'Zogbia idealy) and bring Welbeck in onloan to fill Bents shoes as Gyans main strike partner.

Would give us one hell of a solid squad IMO

    gk - Mignolet, Westwood, Gordon
def - Bardsley, Richardson, O'Shea, Brown, Turner, Bramble, Ferdinand
mid - Elmohamady, Larsson, Cattermole, Colback, Meyler, Gardner, Vaughan, Malbranque, Sessegnon
fwd - Gyan, Campbell, Ji, Wickham

very strong squad IMO just like I said get that creative midfielder and Welbeck onloan and we would be looking good
    Ha'Way the Lads!!!

    Bring on Liverpool

When you look at it like that, seems to me we are still weak as piss.

    This area needs sorting desperatly.

I'm convinced that this is why Bruce talked about loan signings.

Sadly, with the talk the other day about funds, they are not never ending.

Still got a few to come in, but strikers cost a whack, and if he can get one on loan, it'll help.

Reckon Wickham will be our biggest fee, people talk of these millions like they are nothing.

The forward line is worrying, mainly due to Campbell out for months and Ji & Whickham untested and Asa going to ACN we do need a top striker to partner Gyan & Welbeck on loan would be sound business to cover Campbell while he is out and Gyan when he is away.

Vaughan is quite a creative midfielder, anyone got his assists for last season?

Not sure if we will have the money for a left sided player so maybe Kranjar(Spurs) / Zirkov(Chelsea) loan as well?

Sounds drastic when we put it in the harsh light of day. It's all true though.

To be fair to Brucey though I think the next striker could be the arbuably the most important decision of his career so taking his time to get it right is fine by me and most calm Sunderland fans will know that this wont be our final front line for next season. Also when the bigger clubs do their business and clubs panic with their unwanted players more strikers will become available so I wouldnt be surprised if we havnt got our man by the end of July, which would create mass panic for some fans but Bruce has showed he gets it spot on in the striker dept so far.

A bold statement, and one that could well prove to be right.

Make or break seasons follow make or break transfers.

And in this transfer window, there is several managers who are going to have to make some bold moves. Hit or miss time for some.

We may already have our star forward in Wickham, but how quickly do you throw him in?

People say give him time, but how much, if he don't play we don't know. If he does play (and doesn't produce) people will say it's to early.

Why maybe a loan forward, could be a good idea. But who?

Would be happy with another full back, centre half, winger & striker.

The way our defense conceded last season was shocking.

Not as shocking as my spelling of defence though!

he had 3 assits, and hes not very creative tbh, not compared to n'zogbia and kranjar, he doesnt do does stunning passes, that was Adam, or get past a player with ease, but hes still a good solid squad player.

but i agree with you guys on your foward line, even if you do manage to bring welbeck on loan that leaves you with 5 strikers.

wickham being 18 wont play to many, gyan garunteed to miss 2 months and maybe more if injured, and what did someone say, Dj Campbell is out for 3 months? and who knows who ji dong won will play in the premier league.
so you guys desperatly need a new striker.

I agree about the forward line -no depth really - Wickham and Ji are young and need bringing through gradually and Campbell is injured so think we need some quality up there.

Vaughan had 3 assists last season...

So just where would Vaughan fit in, where would he play?

Would this be a kick in the nuts for Colback and Meyler..

Only after Turner and Bramble got injured - we were the 6th best team for clean sheets with 13 last season (Same as Arsenal) - It was the 14 game winless run which stopped that!! Glad we've got a new keeper in (I like Mig but think he needs a bit more time to solidify himself in the English PL) - think Westwood may be the 1st choice at the start of the season.

Up top and a good quality left winger (Like Krancjar or Zogbia - although I don't think the zog will be here at £65k a week!!)

ok 3 assists isnt spectacular for Vaughan but I heard he can keep the pace of the game going and links the play quite well, either way hes on a bosman so wouldnt cost a bomb.

A left winger, Gyan partner & Welbeck on loan would wrap up the summer signings very nicely indeed.

Good - let him go to West Ham for me - had no hunger at liverpool and played like he thought he was the dogs bollocks - we don't need that at Sunderland and if he wasn't hungry at Liverpool then why would he be hungry here??
