Day two last year targets, 2014 1:24.165 - Button - McLaren 1:24.812 - Raikkonen - Ferrari 1:25.344 - Bottas - Williams 97 laps - Rosberg - Mercedes 53 laps - Guitierrez - Sauber 47 laps - Raikkonen - Ferrari
We should measure performance through laps/distance covered instead of time. Mercedes have got this season done and dusted.
Mercedes know their car is quick, it was, at most circuits over a second, if not 2 faster than the rest of the field last year, the others won't be bridging that gap anytime soon... What it wasn't last year was reliable, they're just pounding in the laps to make sure the reliability issues are reduced.. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't bang in a quick lap all pre-season, no need to show their hand.. Ferrari maybe quick or it maybe running on SuperSofts with very little fuel in the tanks! McLaren need to sort their **** out and quick... doesn't bode well if after 5 days (3 days at Abu Dhabi) they still can't get the engine working properly! RBR if they get a bit more power from Renault along with Williams will be Merc's main challengers, with Lotus doing a Williams and being the comeback team of 2015!

Can't imagine any of the teams are particularly happy about the rain, but Mclaren least of all, since even if they get the car running that increases the risk of electronic problems.
On the other hand, it gives Ron more time to admire the manufacturing quality and give the tight packaging an appreciative stroke.
LONGER STINT VETTEL Sebastian Vettel is doing a longer stint on the medium compound. His lap times are: 1:21.8, 1:22.2, 1:22.5, 1:23.2, 1:23.1, 1:23.2, 1:23.4, 1:23.8, 1:23.8 and 1:24.3. please log in to view this image

Mercedes have done 246 laps in two days, 3.7 race distances apparently. McLaren have just about managed 3.7 paces
Mclaren dream will have to wait a while. Kvyat was punished by RBR having to do in and out laps only, after destroying their only front wing.
Williams still running ridiculous rear bodywork shrinkage. please log in to view this image please log in to view this image
Am I alone in thinking that the bodywork seems too tight, so that it's almost too open at the back end? Can't see how the airflow can be particularly tidy without much to route it around the back end neatly, as it's just hitting all the exposed suspension, exhaust etc.
