No, not by the performance. By some Saints fans (thankfully a minority). I clearly heard booing when Barrow was stretchered off with what was clearly a serious injury. That is disgusting and completely out of order and those who booed should have a long look in the mirror.

Me too. And in the Northam it was a majority. I couldn't hear anyone else clapping him off over the booing.

I complained the other week when Shane Long was booed off and I do it again. Ill-mannered indeed.

Vin

Thought booing for the injury, and booing at FT was disgusting.

Some fans should be ashamed.

The booing was for the referee Tom, I really think so. It wasn't the lads fault, but it just all blew up after that moment. Frustration because we let the game slip away more than any ill-feeling towards Barrow.

No it wasn't. It happened as soon as Barrow was lifted onto the stretcher and carried off.

Yes. Disgraceful. I was about to make this thread when I logged on. I also think the challenge is a disgrace by Bertrand and a nailed on red. He could have reached the ball first and toe-poked it to Barrow's right side to beat him. The way he challenged the player and followed through he wanted to hurt him. That's my opinion and it's not changing even if it upsets people here.

No it wasn't. It was at the player.

Ok it happened when he was stretchered off, but to suggest that the Saints fans thought he was faking it, or wished him hurt is incorrect in my view. I think it was just a time when people wanted to vent their frustrations. Needless perhaps, but sometimes people's emotions take over.

It happened right in front of me at the game, I don't need to see a replay. The answer is yes. Replays are not good for challenges like that. They make it look like far less force has been used in the challenge.

It's funny, and I'm not just arguing with you for the sake of it, that I felt the challenge looked absolutely fine in real time, and was really shocked to see a foul, let alone a red card. Seeing others' reactions and the replay seems to suggest that it was a hard tackle, and some will see it as a red, but it is no way clear cut.

Wasn't at the game but made comments on the match thread about barrow diving with some choice language. I would like to apolgise for them as they were in the heat of the moment and I hope the injury isn't too serious.

For a second opinion? Yes. You're not a referee who gets one take. You're a fan with the beauty of hinsight. And based on this viewpoint, thank goodness you are. I didn't think it was a red at the time and I still don't with the benefit of replays.

The force used in the challenge was far too much for me. That would have injured most players..and it did injure Barrow...

To be fair I wouldn't feel so strongly about it if I wasn't convinced Bertrand could have beaten Barrow to the ball by nicking it past him to his right side. Then I just would have called it a stupid challenge. It's just my opinion. Let's agree to disagree. I knew it would be an unpopular opinion as this is a fan forum for the Saints!

Absolutely, and I respect your opinion. This is what forums are for.
