Two teams who were happy to draw. One to preserve a 5 point lead - the other not daring to risk an 8 point deficit. I predicted 1-1 in SD's (not Scooby Doo) prediction league - the only thing I got right, but so obvious. SAF v Wenger, at the height of Utd and Arsenal's rivalry, would have both gone all out for the win.
I was watching the Watford and forgot that was Gomes in goal.I thought at first it was one of Popeye's Goonie men, bald head and all! I keep asking myself " if goalies stood still on their goalines when a penalty is being taken, would they not save more than they let in?"A lot of penalties I've seen this season are straight at the goalie, but he's missed them because he's dived early!
I can remember watching Greavesie take a few penalties at WHL when I was a kid. Usually took them with his left, but he was just as adept with his right foot and seemed to make his mind up at the last moment. I can't remember seeing him ever missing one.
Yes he did miss one but I don't know against which team. I posted earlier that I thought we should beat West Ham after their loss to Liverpool whom I thought we play after Arsenal but it's a case of knicks in a twist, I see we don't play them until near the end of the month. I think a lot of people are expecting us to lose heavily to Pool and Arsenal, Fiorentina etc but I don't think we will. I always watch the score of the team after which we have just played to compare scores which gives me a good idea of our form. I think we have a good chance of a draw at Liverpool.
Villa are so seriously ****e that hutton has been their best player! And they should be 3 down instead of just 1
Seriously thor...? You said we were **** and we won 3 nil away... So if the goons are 3 up cos they are strong then we , by your reasoning, can not be ****
Assuming that Villa don't nick one at the end, they now average less than half a goal per game in the league this season. That's bloody awful, especially as they've actually got some good strikers. Lambert needs to go.
It has been a truely inept performance. They played a high line and had two clear warnings in the 1st 5 mins...then conceded in the 8th min in exactly the same way. They conceded the 2nd in the same way and the third came from villa over committing andletting arsenal walk through their defence...and the penalty was embarrassing...straight at the keeper and he pushes it into his own net...should be an own goal
Yes colin and yesterday's performance many agreed was our best of the season. We were total rubbish I said not **** and losing to Palace, Leicester, struggling past Burnley and Sheff U proved we were rubbish. It's possible that we turned a corner yesterday whereas Arsenal have won their last four and quite convincingly too. Now 5-0 was it? Yes, I'd say Arsenal are strong and with probably another nine points from their next three matches too. I posted that to a gooner a few days ago and there's three of them.
Do you have any faith in your team at all? Judging by your posts, you don't seem to take any joy in supporting them.
Thank you for reading them Brunel and if you take a look at my remarks about yesterday's match you will see that I do. Is there something wrong with being realistic about one's team or something? I've heard enough "Wenger out" from you lot so look who's shouting.
No need to be so condescending. I was being deadly serious with my post. Nothing wrong with being pragmatic whatsoever, I can't say I've looked at every single one of your posts but from the ones I have seen, you don't seem to have a lot of confidence in your team. I accept perceptions can be wrong. You're entitled to your views of course, but your team seem to be ruthlessly efficient compared to seasons gone by. You're 4 points off of 4th, in a cup final and in the EL so I'm not sure why you're so certain we will beat you next week (obviously I hope we do).
Thor... apologies...but spurs are not rubbish... We are 6th, in the coc final and still in the europa league By any measurement that aint rubbish. Are arsenal better than us? I'd agree with you on that but their fans were gojng mental in december demanding wenger out after losing away to swansea and stoke and messjng up in a CL match. I suspect me and you wont agree on this so....have a good week
Actually Brunel I'm a bit ambivalent about our next meeting. I posted after the 0-3 that I'm more confident about our next three matches but after your demolition of Villa, your wins at Brighton, City and Stoke(The turning point for you) I just feel that we'll be fortunate to get a point. You're coming good at the right time. 13 goals in 4 matches and we have a suspect defence. Yes colin, they were calling for his head in December but Arsenal have turned the corner now and as I said maybe we did yesterday. You also have a good week but I'm sure we'll meet at sometime before the Arsenal match as we have a week to prepare for it.
