I agree that Huddlestone was poor the answer really isn't put Meyler into the middle. We need someone who can pass and move, far to often we are static and not making a run, or even attempting to draw a man to make space for someone else. Quinn will at least pass and move, i am not a huge fan of him but at least he makes a run if he isn't quite PL quality. We need far more movement we are just so static.
In the South Stand, a few rows in front of the woman who weakly & meekly pleaded for everyone to "sit down" just after, I think, Elmo scored his hands on naughty goal.
I can't believe how Huddlestone can get in the team after not having a single good game for 14 months.

I genuinely think Quinn and Meyler are good players that can make things happen. But maybe i'm so used to our central midfielders doing absolutely nothing, that their ability to do standard things (running with the ball, passing forward, looking for the ball, tackling etc...) makes them seem world class to me.

Ah ok. It drive me ****ing mad on a free kick when some **** does a three yard run up and dinks a free kick. Take a ten yard run up and ****ing kick the **** out of that ball.
Did anyone seriously expect that free kick to do any damage? My god it was pathetic. Even that shot Hudd had from the edge of the box??? Hit it gently right across the floor!! Pathetic. ****ing pathetic. knock the ****ing **** out of it. Hit it like you're never going to kick a ball again not some mincing ****ing half arsed attempt
Across the midfield, left to right, it should be Robertson, Quinn, livermore, elmo. If that 4 can't create a few chances nothing will.
He hit it like he didn't give a ****. Whats most worrying is nobody told him he'd hit it like he didn't give a ****.
From the off today their ginger prince dominated the midfield, get a player like that in & we'll be halfway there.
We have our own ginger = Quinniesta - He could do that job. He also rarely gives the ball away.
I don't get the obsession with Quinn, all he does is pass sideways and run in circles, he's basically Meyler without the physical presence. Can remember him giving it away in our own half quite a few times this season as well, each leading to a goal or a near miss.
If Quinn is our saviour then we're ****ed.

Nice? It doesn't matter about nice, it matters that he can run around and pass. A simple task that is beyond our current midfield.
We have enough nice, we need a nasty ****er who'll get stuck in, break up play, get the team enthused, bolloock them when they hit a free kick with less venom than Douglas Bader ever would, protect them so they're free to play their natural game, wind up the opposition & call them ****s, get the crowd wound up & on the back of the opposition rather than our own player's. A leader.
Ah, you meant a leader. They can still be nice and be successful at delivering on the points above.
It summed him up perfectly. Good technique but achieved nothing and didn't cause them a problem at all. That's his game down to a tee at the moment.
I think Livermore is doing alright. In fact I'd say he stands out above the other midfielders playing at the moment. Meyler isn't the answer, he's just getting everything wrong at the moment. Quinn never lets us down and it's a complete myth that he's just a workhorse, some City players get this reputation and it sticks but it's bollocks with Quinn. He got loads of assists when he used to play regularly. He's one of our best crosses of the ball, that's why he's a set piece taker while Jake and Meyler aren't. He seems to be an easy player to leave out whereas Meyler gets squeezed in all over the place regardless of form. I'd give him a go ahead of Huddlestone for a bit.
Normally I don't mind Elmo at RB but he was wasted there today. We had no width and he was sat at RB. Suddenly I think Lennon is exactly what we need, since Elmo has to play RB. Ramirez is talented but he hasn't got the bottle or the determination, same as our other Uruguayan.
Huddlestone has always been a sluggish player in terms of getting around the pitch. That's the main reason he wasn't getting game time at Spurs. However his saving grace was that passing ability and his supposed football brain that gave him time to pick out those passes.
I believe Huddlestone drifts in front of the back four because he can appear to be involved a lot in the play without having to bust a gut getting around the park. Unfortunately his passing ability is **** all use when all he is doing with it is passing it between himself and our central defenders.
I think he should move on in the summer whether we stay up or not as he is not the player we thought he was going to be for us.

Didn't think I would ever say this but huddlestone and Livermore need to be dropped to try find some form. Is it only me who thinks they have stopped trying because they think they are the best we got for their positions in midfield. Well here is a news ****ing flash you both ain't that ****ing good and need a stint in the reserves to realise this you pair of ****s. Meyer and Quiniesta played in the team that got us up and have the spirit and the balls to actually play for the team. As far as I'm concerned we should play a team that at least wants to play for the club. If that's the best team we have that started today we are royally ****ed. Rant over
Agreed,I know they are not everybody's cup of tea, but a Charlie Adam, Joey Barton or Kevin Nolan type of midfielder.
