I don't like saying things like this until the story's confirmed, but here goes. If he dragged his heels for three days over signing for us, but signs for WBA in a matter of hours, did he really want to come to us in the first place? Have we been used by his agent to engineer the move he really wants?
Your spot on. When a player wants to sign for you, you can get things done fairly quickly. Deadline day proves this, as players become available last minute they are rushed over for a medical and to agree personal terms, and boom, signed.
If Humberside tweeted about N'Doye a few days ago saying a fee has been agreed, then if the guy wanted to sign for us he would have rushed over, had his medical, and signed the contract, then there's just the case of gaining a work permit. But the players contract is always on condition of gaining a work permit anyway.
So yeah, he's ponced around for a few days hoping other clubs come in for him and it sounds like they have.
Saying that, you cant blame him for wanting the best possible deal for himself. If another club has offered more money or a longer deal etc, anyone of us would do the same thing.
I cant say im actually too bothered if we miss out on him. Bruce has been saying all January that we need to spend carefully and bring in players who will definitely improve us, well who's saying this guy will? He could easily end up being another Nick Proschwitz, good in their current league but piss poor over here.
