If true, I find this transfer puzzling, we sign him for 2.3 million on a 2year contract,he spends his first year out on loan, so in effect we've got him for one season, then he becomes a free agent, just think we could have spent the money better.

He doesn't become a free agent if he pulls his finger out and earns a new contract.

I'm not wrong at all. Ferguson wouldnt play him and Pogba didnt want to sign a deal not to play:

Pogba said: 'I’m impatient. Even if I was quite patient, Alex Ferguson told me, "You’re a whisker away from playing ... You’re a youngster from the academy, you’re not ready yet. You must be patient. Scholes was, Giggs was."

'I’m not Giggs, I’m not Scholes. I really wanted to play.

'I said, "OK no problem." If I’m not ready, perhaps I’ll be ready elsewhere. I at least felt ready to have more playing time. He didn’t show me enough that he wanted me in his squad. Even if he said some nice things about me, about my potential, if you don’t show it, it’s all just hot air.

'It all depends on what you have in your head. If you want to play at Manchester just to be able to say, "I play at United", even though you’re on the bench, are you happy?

'I came on a few times, I played in the cups, but I wanted to have more playing time. If I could have played in China, I would have gone to China.'

I completely agree that we need another striker, but you know what Brucey is like, he likes to use Ramirez and Aluko upfront so he may think we don't need cover? Which is ludicrous, we obviously need cover as well as a replacement for Sagbo.

If you look at every team in and around us, they have better/more strikers than us. Most have at least 4 capable strikers, two decent strikers and two back-up.

Villa: Benteke, Agbonlahor, Weimann & Kozak(injured).

Palace: Chamakh, Sanogo, Campbell, Gayle, Murray, Doyle.

Burnley: Ings, Barnes, Sordell, Vokes, Jutkiewicz.

Leicester: Ulloa, Vardy, Nugent, Kramaric, Wood.

    QPR: Austin, Vargas, Zamora, Zarate

Sunderland: Fletcher, Defoe, Graham, Wickham, Mandron

West Brom: Ideye, Berahino, Anichebe, Samaras

    Compared to us:

    Hull: Jelavic, Hernandez, Sagbo

We have a few players who "can play upfront if needed" but we need out and out strikers, not pussy footed wingers playing upfront. (Aluko, Ince, Brady, etc)

He only wouldn't pick him after the contract dispute had begun, Ferguson believed that because Pogba wouldn't sign another deal, he was disrespectful - he made him train on his own during the contract dispute. There's no doubt United rated him and wanted to keep him.

True, but looking back at the circus, he and his father became before he signed for us not to sure, if he did have a half decent season, the old man would be after a bigger club and payday for him and his lad.

He's in the "Better than playing a plank of wood upfront" category. He played well for us, just did everything apart from score. Although that Mandron kid does look decent, scored the winner against Man City u21's the other day.

Good to see our youngsters going out on loan, even if it is to a struggling Scottish team in their second division.

He made 4 senior appearances for Man Utd, how does that equate to "He only wouldn't pick him after the contract dispute had begun"? That contract dispute mustve started the day he signed for them then.....

I didnt say United didnt rate him. I said he didnt impress Ferguson. As we all now know, Phelan was the proper manager for those last 5 years.

How old was Pogba when it all cracked off? 17/18?

Hardly in a position to be holding Man Utd and the great Sir Alex to ransom, he was a kid learning his trade and just breaking in to the fringes at the biggest club in the world.

He was breaking into the fringes of the first team. If he wasn't impressing them they WOULD not have offered another contract. Then Man U reacted like a petulant child when he moved to Juventus, in the same way fans see a star player move on and they say 'Ah well, he was **** anyway.' When clearly he wasn't ****, they were just hurt he didn't want to stay.

You can admit you're wrong, there's no shame.

Fair play, Scottish Championship is where Oxley is playing and he'll get a chance to test himself against Hibs, Hearts and Rangers. That league is currently more competitive than League 2, so hopefully he can kick on from here.

Might be part of the juggling of our wage bill mentioned by Sterling Archer's friend

Fergie fell out with Pogba and should probably given him more of a chance earlier, but it's obvious that Fergie thought he was a very good player, it's completely wrong to suggest he didn't rate him.

He's not really earning that much as far as I'm aware, I suppose every little helps but he's on nowhere near what most of our first team are. If he's out the team, it also means we have a space in the squad (he's 23 on Friday) for someone else to be registered at the end of the month, which is handy. I suspect it has more to do with the latter.

I think it comes down to which player we lose.

I think we are all aware now there is the 50k wages for a loan player for either a striker or winger (Lennon) with a possible permanent in summer.
I think we're also after a lower wages player who would demand a few, either a striker or winger depending who we get in on loan. I think this part of our business which is stalling, as we need to get rid of a player and it all depends what kind of fee we get and the wages they were on (Mcmanaman, N'Doye ect.)

I know for a fact the Allams are going to back us but won't risk anything more than this '60m' banded about.
