Personally I think it's been a shockingly poor window by our accounts - why aren't we being linked heavily with M'Villa?!?!?

Please no! There aren't too many players I despise but he is one of them. His play-acting, card-waving, injury-faking antics are not something I would like to see adopted by our squad.

I'd have to agree with you on that. Not only does he cheat but he has a face you want to slap. It's a shame as he would slot in nicely as our DM.

Latest rumour mill: Kevin Großkreutz from Dortmund. Can play in defence or midfield, great engine and reportedly an Arsenal fan. Also rumoured to be available for around £4m.

How good is he if he's only worth £4m? Or is his contract running out?

18 months left but he publically announced two years ago that he wanted out and no acceptable offers came in. TBH I don't know much about him but if he can play RB/LB and DM then that's a pretty useful player to have. Regular in the Dortmund squad which before this season was deemed an excellent thing!

Großkreutz is a quality player. £4Million would be a bargain.

Not exactly sure if he's a necessary signing though. We have plenty of depth in the wide areas. (He has played DM before though.)

Still for that money would be a very good signing.

Grosskreutz is a slightly more quicker and technically better version of Milner. Jack of all trades, master of none.

Wouldn't mind him as a squad player but is he going to solve any of our problems at the moment? I don't think so.

Players like that I think are really underrated. They do what they're told and put in a fantastic shift. It's always good to have a guy like that in a squad, especially as they tend to be versatile.

I think we'll be signing a player like this in the summer as recently we've been linked with Milner, Großkreutz and Sissoko, all guys cut from the same cloth.

I agree with you on this one. Every team needs workhorses and we don't have enough. We have plenty of racehorses but we need someone to do the less fancied stuff. Someone with a good engine and that can protect our back 4 as well as our attacking midfielder. Players like Ozil need protecting and need to be allowed to express themselves properly without the need for the rough stuff.

We need a Gilberto type player who get on with the job with no fuss and stop opposition playing whilst allowing our team to flourish. Unfortunately both Flamini and Arteta are no longer up to the job. I think Milner would be a good signing.
all teams need a "water carrier" as Eric Cantona said

Dont know how true this is but according to the bbc this is what sissoko is saying -

Newcastle midfielder Moussa Sissoko has told French website Foot Mercato that he wants to play for "a very big club" as speculation continues over his future.

Paris St-Germain have been linked with the France international, who described Arsenal as "the club of my heart" in early January.

"I want to stay here and grow at one of the biggest clubs in England," Sissoko said. "If it happens, it happens. I am at Newcastle and I will continue to work until one day I have the chance to play at a very big club."

I think Sissoko would be a really good signing and a pretty realistic one too <ok>

Sissoko would be a good signing indeed.

He can play in a variety of roles and would give us some much needed power/athletiscm in midfield.

Newcastle will demand a large fee though, I reckon.

Not if he wants out ... and if Ashley wants out of Newcastle as well!
