Then accept midtable IMO cod frankly seeing out position on the top 10 revenues by club I feel we certainly can afford 4 players on top money to go with a bunch of kids with potential We are after all after handing sturridge 150k while injured for 5 months and have 100k on the table for sterling who is just wondering should he mug us off for more elsew here or sign up then engineer a move anyway There has to be room to pay 200k cos even arsenal will
The issue isn't that we signed too many players. The issue is that we spunked £60m approx on 3 players who should have gone straight into the first team and improved us - Lovren, Lallana and Balotelli. Awful signings. With regards to Sanchez, I think we did match if not better Arsenal's offer. But the players was courted by Wenger for over a year, wenger met up with him PERSONALLY over the World Cup, and whether we like it or not, London is a big draw and Arsenal are by far a safer option than Liverpool.
Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli didn't even make the bench for his side's FA Cup fourth round tie against Bolton and, if the comments by Reds manager Brendan Rodgers are anything to go by, his days at Anfield appear numbered. "He knows exactly what is required to be in this squad before he can be in the team," says Rodgers. "It is difficult for him [Balotelli] but he knows the level of [where] this team is at - you see the aggression in our pressing and if you can't do that you are not going to be a part of what this team is trying to achieve. "We had an hour or so yesterday chatting and he understands where he is at."
Just sell Balotelli (if humanly possible at this point) and let's move on from the whole shambles. Hasn't worked. No biggy. But lets not allow his continued presence to be a distraction
that's because we're doing everything we can to forget he exists, let alone plays for the club you think Balo was a committee jobbo then??
Balotelli was an admitted gamble. Probably at the time it was him or no one, and the fee and likely resell value was good enough to take a punt. Maybe now Rodgers is pushing to accept the gamble didn't work and resell to have funds for this or more likely next window.
Who the **** is going to put decent money up to buy this chump now? Your only hope is shipping him out on loan in the hope that he performs well somewhere else and regains some credibility, as at the minute he's worth 2 balloons and a canary
No compo agreed with EFC so they've jumped the gun here. Hence the comment from Martinez. Sampdoria are a set of ****s
The Ivory Coast FA announcing the transfer of Bony was worse, what the **** has it got to do with them.
He'll play a few games with Sturridge which will suit his game and make him look good. Then there'll be loads of clubs willing to have a go for about £10m.
Will he? Not so sure you'll be seeing much of him at all, he's currently got "emergency use only" stamped on his kitbag. Anyone prepared to put up £10m and cover his £100k salary would need to have their head examined. Deadline day loan move.......
Deffo a committee buy - a poor signing in hindsight because he's only useful as a partner for Sturidge, not as a replacement. Idiotic to build our attack around an injury prone striker like Sturridge.
