    No quadruple for Chelsea.

Why do the media spout this b*ll*cks every January? If a title contender gets to the League Cup S-F, the chances are they will still be in the 4th round of the F.A.Cup and will have made it through the group stage of the CL. Hardly grounds for claiming they could win all of them - as today's reality check has shown.

Only 3 PL teams through in the Cup so far (and two of those as a result of all PL ties)

    Liverpool strong?
They just drew nil nil with bolton who, to fair, have eider g and heskey up front!
They did a passable impression of us tonight.
    Arsenal strong?
Cos they beat city? They are a whole 2 points ahead of us...and have had some piss poor results and performances.
Us totally rubbish? i think you are over egging on those 3...there are clearly problems with us...a lot of your views re goal scoring problems are shared by many
but imo you weaken your points by letting your frustration make you over react

While Spurs have left us wondering what team will turn up v Sheffield.Proud and willing or just waiting for their summer holidays on the Riviera,I failed to notice the team of yesterday has been wound up.Namely Hereford United!
Was it just yesterday they were setting the world alight beating Newcastle United and other exploits?
Gosh. You never know what tomorrow will bring,do you?

Since beating Chelsea colin we've STRUGGLED to beat relegation strugglers, lost to Palace and a penalty win against Sheff Utd. A lot of possession not converted to goals. 2-1 v Sunderland is rubbish. Two attempts to get past Burnley conceding two at home again is rubbish. Losing to Palace? Also rubbish. 1-0 v Sheff Utd, rubbish and losing to Leicester the bottom club, complete rubbish. We conceded three against Chelsea and all the time I've been saying that we are not playing well and getting the results that we should have been getting yet most of you were happy with all this.
Well I wasn't as you may recall. Liverpool have lost one in ten or something which I call strong and Arsenal's last two wins have been impressive, five for and none against and I think they will strengthen. colin, I'm sorry if you think my description of our team is total rubbish but that's the way I see it. We SHOULD NOT be struggling against the bottom clubs.

What frustrates me the most is how some of you boys on here are satisfied with the manner of our pathetic wins.

TMT I have been watching Spurs for over 50 years and would really like to see us winning 3-0 every week with the best team in the world. But even in the early 60s that never happened. All I care about currently is getting into the CL again. If that requires a few lucky wins then that is fine with me.

They didn't do too bad in the 60's apart from when poor John White was killed by lightning and Dave Mackay broke a leg.
Oh my! That just reminded me of that fellow we bought from Arsenal.Laurie Brown. What a joke that was.....and later David Jenkins from Arsenal too. What a bloody joke he was.
...and now we look at the jokers we have playing for us today.....!

He was another from the North East Smithy. Did Spurs have a big scouting network up there?

Plenty went to Burnley too. Of course, they were a big club at the time.

Fine Power but have you noticed how lucky wins are followed very quickly by pathetic defeats, how that luck quickly runs out and true form is displayed. We won't get into the CL if we struggle against the bottom clubs. What we need now is not a new coach as I advocated earlier in the season but two new strikers.

Thor's handed over to me, Power I too have been watching Spurs for over 50 years and back in the 60's we never had problems with scoring as we do now with Jimmy and Gilly etc. Even up until Clive Allen Spurs always had a good forward or two who found the net. I have to agree with Thor that Spurs are struggling and that we have to improve.

When a club can be a
Liverpool are strong cos they have only lost 1 in 10 yet before today we had lost 1 game in 11...so therefore by your logic we were a strong team this morning.

I ain't trying to dig but i honestly you are over reacting when you call us rubbish.
We need a back four that keep clean sheets and at least 1 more striker as we aint consistent enough at either end of the pitch.
I also think we have been lucky at times but we have also been unlucky.
We should have had a late penalty v United, the offside goal last week v sunderland, we should have had a penalty v palace, so the good luck v bad luck is pretty even.

In November we won 5 and lost 1 match.
In December we won 4 drew 2 and lost 2 (one was an away meaningless europa game)
In January we have so far won 4 drawn 1 lost 2

    we played 21 - won 13 drawn 3 lost 5

in the same time liverpol have played 20 - Won 8 drawn 7 lost 5

    and Arsenal have played 17 - won 11 drawn 2 lost 4

It doesn't stack up that we are rubbish and they are strong

I wish we could score goals like Bradford City did then I'd stop criticizing. I notice Chelsea's second was in off the post from a few yards out and their next two matches are very interesting.
