I'd be shocked if he is still with Everton at the end of the window. Taking the penalty from Baines and thumbing his nose at the gaffer and teammates will almost certainly end in retribution from management.

The larger clubs may be rethinking his desirability (Spurs in particular), possibly making him available to teams like Sunderland??? With all due respect, he's exactly what Gus needs. Lots of creativity from midfield, lots of pace (he and Defoe would cause some real headaches) and he can find the net.

That would be fun to watch. Nevermind that he's probably a selfish prick.

I had money on Baines first goal last night and after the penalty fiasco, Barkley wouldn't let him on the free kicks :headbang:

Thought maybe, just maybe, opportunity may have raised his hand on this one. Thought maybe he could come at a reasonable price, with a reasonable wage (Defoe like, certainly).

But, as the saying goes, "Wish in one hand and **** in the other. See what you end up with."
