Taking the penalty from Baines and thumbing his nose at the gaffer and teammates will almost certainly end in retribution from management. The larger clubs may be rethinking his desirability (Spurs in particular), possibly making him available to teams like Sunderland??? With all due respect, he's exactly what Gus needs. Lots of creativity from midfield, lots of pace (he and Defoe would cause some real headaches) and he can find the net. That would be fun to watch. Nevermind that he's probably a selfish prick.
