Miralles is good but I doubt Everton would sell at anything less than a premium price to us. What happened to Konoplyanka (another Ukrainian IIRC)? He was good and young to boot.
It's not like I mentioned we're linked with a £7m deal for him in the January transfer window thread yesterday or anything...
I've been away for a few days and am pretty busy upon my return so I hadn't read all the way back. Stop making me feel bad haha
Eden hazard must be the most over protected player in world football, he just has to fall over and its a foul every time.
Looking at the 2 sides you could only see Chelsea winning. To be fair to Liverpool they're making a decent go of it though. Still I've no idea what game Quinn's watching, he seemed to think Liverpool were all over Chelsea before the goal, they looked fairly dangerous but they hadn't created anything. I expect we'll hear Mourinho say that the penalty decision for Costas handball was correct. I mean, he'd be right but it's a near identical situation to the Vertonghen one that he whinged about. If you've got your hand on the floor and it hits it from very close range it's never ever a penalty.
Jose acts like a tart about his poor player being fouled and he is now over protected We don't act like tarts and get goals ruled offside from our own half There's a moral in there somewhere
Really good from Liverpool in the second half, they finally started turning their dangerous attacks into real chances. Bizarre from Mourinho though, Ramires and Remy are made for the counterattack which was clearly going to be their only outlet the way they were playing yet Jose didn't make a sub until very late on. It looks very well set up for the second leg there, hopefully we can avoid making things hard for ourselves tomorrow.
I'd say Neymar gets that dubious distinction: you get a lot of things your way if you wear a Brazil or a Barca shirt, and he wears both.
Neymar’s certainly right up there. Robben is another one, and the most annoying one of the bunch, to me. He’s always ready to make his little back-arched, hands up dive the moment someone looks at him hard, and--this is hard to explain--he does it with a kind of rhythm and conviction that seems to get the ref every time. The League Cup result suits me. 0-0 will get Chelsea through, but only after extra time. I was wondering after Chelsea went up whether anyone really thought Liverpool was going to come back. But credit to them, they did well to get the draw. I still wonder if anyone really thinks Liverpool is going to get through, though. Before today’s game, I thought I wanted Chelsea to make it to the finals, and now I’d much rather Liverpool did. I don’t know what I was thinking.
I still think Liverpool will do it. If I were a Chelsea supporter I might be concerned that my team scored five last week and only a penalty this week, that's a huge dip in goal scoring form in a matter of two matches. I didn't see the match but Chelsea I read were not good in the second half whereas Liverpool perked up. It makes me think that Chelsea have bigger fish to fry. I went for Liverpool to get to the final before the match.
Chelsea have dipped a lot recently, with the huge exception of the Swansea game. Question is, was that a return to form, or a one-off. The Arsenal result also, are they now going to power on now, or was the City game an exception.
Their board think it is nailed on, the only doubt I see over there is whether they can get back into the title fight. The performance against City was exceptional, as was ours against Chelsea, but it doesn't mean they will be unstoppable from now on. Our game against Arsenal in a few weeks is going to be crucial for the confidence levels in the run-in.
