Hopefully him doing the right thing and signing a new contract. If not City are buying a injured player for 20m.....

Yeh spotted this earlier. Looking back at Jay's recent activity on Twitter... he appears to come out the woodwork a little and showing more open support for the club recently. I would speculate he is now interested in our success and that after discussing tactics last night over dinner, they are there to negotiate on his contract. Cant see any truth in the City rumours, but then again i was one of those guys who dismissed the Rickie Lambert transfer right up until i saw him wearing the shirt!

City need a english player to fill their English player quota.

Legit or are you just being facetious? I assumed that unless they were looking to offload an English player in this window, they would be set until the summer anyway. I can see the reasoning, but it all the recent reports seem like convenient lazy journalism. Its as if they don't know he has been injured for 9 months...

Yeah that's what I don't get either. Why would they sign a player that hasn't played for a year. But then City have so much money do they really care about the odd £20m? With Milner and Sinclair looking to leave they will need buy a English player.

If Milner and Sinclair leave they'll get decent money for them as well, especially Milner, and free up some wages.
