Notice that this happened the day after Koeman cast doubt on him appearing this season? Not to cast judgements - but I was at Koeman's presser and have been in the office of a south coast news agency today...
As I said its on twitter and after hearing Rons comments yesterday it's a little bit confusing to what's actually happining
Also have a think about who would be putting the stories that counter Koeman's comments on Jay, in the papers...
Ron didn't say that JRod wouldn't be back in training...he said the most important thing was Jay's health and that was more important than getting him playing before the end of the season. He said it was more important than our league position. We are doing okay, so we are hardly desperate for Jay...not like we are trying to avoid relegation. Of course, Saints could be reluctant to risk him if they planned to sell him, but that would be pure supposition.
If we were looking to sell him on in the summer we would need to get him back playing to prove his fitness and speed as well as scoring before anyone would part with bucket loads of cash for him (except for Man City who only want him for a home grown name in their enormous squad so fitness not relevant)
If you had a dodgy car, would you offer to drive a prospective buyer to Edinburgh in it or would you hope they liked the way it looked on the drive?
I'm assuming that Man City's purchasing dept are a little more sophisticated in their buying judgements than Wayne who you met down the pub and are trying to palm your dodgy Fiesta off on
Are you comparing Jay to a clapped out Ford Escort? And do you think we should get him off our hands before anyone notices we've had the engine out of him?
This would be a great bit of news and a real boost for our push for European qualification, if true and JRod doesn't over due things in his attempt to get back
Well if he isn't in full training soon, it'll be too late for March. After practically a year out he'll need a few weeks building up to full match fitness. I really hope this isn't another false dawn for Jay, we need another striker urgently.
Perhaps Jay wants to get some games in, so he will be more saleable (if he doesn't crock himself). Saints on the other hand definitely don't want an asset crocked as they don't mind keeping him. Or less cynically, poor old Jay is bored and this is making him willing to take a risk as he wants to play in an exciting season.
